In my backyard prairie/meadow. Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana.
Although this plant is a native species, I'm not a fan. It has weedy tendencies and climbs all over other plants generally making a nuisance of itself. Yeah, it's very pretty, but . . .

The powdered root and whole flowering plant are used to make medicine. Despite safety concerns, people take greater bindweed for treating fever, urinary tract problems, and constipation

Calystegia sepium (Hedge Bindweed) is a species of bindweed, with a distribution throughout temperate Northern Hemisphere in Europe, Asia, northwestern Africa, and North America, and in the temperate Southern Hemisphere in Australia, and Argentina in South America.
It is a herbaceous perennial that twines around other plants, in a counter-clockwise direction, to a height of up to 2-4 m, rarely 5 m.

Brussels has quite a lot of green open spaces, ponds and forests.
Calystegia sepium (hedge bindweed, Rutland beauty, bugle vine, heavenly trumpets, bellbind, granny-pop-out-of-bed) (formerly Convolvulus sepium) is a species of bindweed, with a subcosmopolitan distribution throughout the temperate Northern and Southern hemispheres.
Bindweed, also known as (wild morning glory), amongst purple flowers, red berries, and driftwood, at the beach. Other names include Calystegia sepium, hedge bindweed, Rutland beauty, bugle vine, heavenly trumpets, bellbind, greater bindweed, bearbind, hedge convolvulus, hooded bindweed, old man's nightcap, bride's gown, wedlock (referring to the white gown-like flowers and the binding nature of the vine), white witches hat, belle of the ball. A common childhood pastime in the UK is to 'pop' the flowers from the sepals while chanting "Granny, granny- pop out of bed".

I went on a short walk this morning with a friend of mine. Didn't produce much, but this is one of the pictures I liked.
Enjoy!

I have two different invasive vines currently in different gardens. One has a flower that resembles a morning glory family: Calystegia sepium, "False bindweed" or "Hedge bindweed". The other is growing at a really fast rate and is even more worrisome. It is Convolvulus arvensis, or "Field bindweed".
Thank you to those who helped me ID the two vines!
We live in Michigan.

Hedge bindweed (Haagwinde, Echte Zaunwinde, Liseron des haies, Vilucchio bianco), for a noxious weed, is quite beautiful.
