Semplice ma molto affascinante!

Camera: Nikon D300

Exposure: 0.004 sec (1/250)

Lens: Nikkor 35mm F/2.0

Aperture: f/16

Focal Length: 35 mm

ISO Speed: 1600

Note that increasing the ISO to 1600 allowed the use of f/16 to gain acceptable focus from the tip of the larger bloom all the way down to the smaller bloom. Compare to www.flickr.com/photos/samfeinstein/2591419946/ and www.flickr.com/photos/samfeinstein/2590583623/ which were taken at the same session at ISO 200 to limit the depth of field by using f/2.0.

It's that time of the year again. My Calla Lilies are in bloom.

Zantedeschia 'Twilight', Calla Lily Twilight

Calla is Greek for beauty and Hebrew for the majestic bride. Originally grown in South Africa, are grown throughout the world. Callas are not actually lilies, though they are often mistakenly referred to as such.
