California's Big Sur coast is known for its breathtaking seascapes. But a tiny, hidden ocean-side valley smothered with Calla Lilies was my favorite location. This shot is dedicated to my wife, Anita, who puts up with me and my passion for photography!

My original intention was for macros of this calla lily, but I couldn't find any angle that I liked. So I decided to try some panning with my macro instead.

Stobist Info: Two SB-800s triggered by SU-800 CLS; Similar to Calla picante: White foam board v-flats left & right of subject; a white foam board "roof" on top of the v-flats for top fill & a white foam board base for bottom fill. Two SB-800s Left (1/64 power) & Right (1/64 power) aimed into apex of v-flats; This time I added Cinegel Grid Cloth between strobes and subject. Typical setup here
I used a long exposure with very low available light and then used a touch of flash at the end of the exposure. I tried this to avoid strong specular reflections.
