When the plastic overhead storage compartment, in this Nissan Titan truck, became brittle and cracked, the owner discovered that the cost to replace it with new factory parts was surprisingly expensive. Thinking outside the box, he considered alternative solutions and decided to replace it with a new flip-down DVD player. It’s Thursday! So let’s throw back to one of our favorite projects, from 2008: A fleet of ’08 Chevrolet Tahoe full-size SUVs that we transformed into mobile marketing tools for Bridgemaxx, a provider of high-speed wireless internet access. They needed a mobile event, presentation, & meeting machine that could entertain a crowd and demonstrate the capabilities of their service. So we created a slide out desk (for quick and easy set-up), a custom designed “bridge” (to hold the wireless modem provided to Bridgemaxx subscribers), and installed a state-of-the-art entertainment center consisting of a 1500 watt power inverter, flat screen TV, LED lighting, PA system with wireless microphone, 2 Fusion amplifiers, and subwoofers, speakers, & CD/DVD player from JVC. Designing and fabricating these unique vehicles was a fun and engaging challenge, for our talented installation team, and they served Bridgemaxx as highly-effective marketing assets!

Big iron, big sound, big fun! Back in 2009, we put our custom fabrication skills to work, on this 1975 Chevy Caprice Classic convertible! First, we installed custom-built Plexiglas enclosures with mirrors, in the trunk, for two Diamond Audio D6 subwoofers and the amps. Then we fabricated custom build-outs, in the doors, to house two speakers and "Caprice Classic" logo panels with back lighting. And we installed a pair of Diamond Audio component speaker sets, with mids, in the doors, and tweeters, in the dash. This thing really rocked, and the owner had a blast cruising around town in his awesome party mobile!

We love a challenge! And when Unmanned Solutions Technology asked us to be involved with the building of a Mobile Ground Control Station (M-GCS), to be used by Sinclair Community College’s National UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems) Training and Certificate Center, we were excited to get started! We began by prepping the interior with a layer of Dynamat and then lined the interior with carpeting and ceiling panels, to ensure that the M-GCS was acoustically quiet. We also installed LED lighting, control panels, counter tops, and a retractable awning. It was rewarding to attend the unveiling of the M-GCS, during yesterday's UAS Midwest convention, at the Dayton Convention Center!

For today’s Transformation Tuesday, we'll take a closer look at our "Project Proton" Isuzu VehiCROSS. In order to install each side's twin Diamond Audio Hex Series tweeters, we modified the original A-pillar covers (using a combination of epoxy resin and polyester mesh) and painted them to match the truck’s exterior. We also fabricated brand new door panels (comprised of medium-density fiberboard, body filler, and fiberglass) to house a pair of Diamond Audio Hex Speakers, on each side. And of course, to reduce annoying rattles and ensure optimal sound quality, we completely wrapped the doors in Dynamat.

Do you want to take a behind the scenes look at how we transformed the empty shell of an International Ambulance into a state-of-the-art Mobile Ground Control Station (M-GCS)? The team at our Beavercreek store began by prepping the interior with a layer of Dynamat and then lined the interior with carpeting and ceiling panels. We also installed LED lighting, control panels, counter tops, and a retractable awning! The M-GCS will be used by Sinclair Community College’s National UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems) Training and Certificate Center.
