A company of four and their pet boxer posing with a Steyr in the countryside. The photo was apparently taken on a sunny day in early spring, as the car is still equipped with a radiator grille cover for cold-weather driving. The rare convertible with a coach-built body by Gläser of Dresden is registered in the former Prussian Rhineland (IZ = Rheinprovinz).

Was not expecting to see one of these in the NEC Car Park, especially as I was there for a classic car show as well! The car parks there are always filled with interesting cars. This one is currently taxed until the 1st of August 2023 and MOT'ed until the 16th of July 2023, it has an excellent MOT history, and has gone straight through with no advisories the past 3 tests! Currently sits at the low mileage of 38,842 miles and the current owner has had it since the 28th of July 2017.

Interesting to compare it with the Simca, both being sold new at around the same time but with a different way of doing things.
Volkswagen introduced the first generation of the Golf in 1974. The cabriolet was added to the range in 1979. This is an import from North America, just called Cabriolet, as the Golf name was not used there for this model. It was built until 1993 as the second generation Golf didn't have a cabriolet version.
