Chicago South Shore & South Bend Railroad Standard Steel built 33 at the Randolph Street Station in Chicago, Illinois on an unknown day in June 1980, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler.

The building displaying this mural (plus another somewhat degraded one on the side facing Aitken Street) was formerly the Telegraph Hotel. It was built in 1862 on the site of a wooden building bearing the same name that had been destroyed by fire in 1861. The two murals were painted by local Hobsons Bay artist, Daryl E. Fox.
As well as the murals, this building also features a beautiful rendering of the ship in a frosted glass panel above the main door in Ann Street, likely to be a contemporary addition.
So why did the British government have to pay such hefty damages to the US?
Well, it all had to do with the appearance of the CSS Shenandoah in Williamstown in 1865 ...
