Cork, pictured putting a smile on people’s faces with his project entitled ‘Free Happiness’. The project was awarded funding from O2 and Headstrong’s national ‘Think Big’ project which is about making a difference to young people’s mental health. Ethan Lawlor arranged a number of activities around his school that are designed to lift his fellow students’ spirits. Ethan has put motivational quotes on the doors of the classrooms and arranged for a representative from Headstrong, the National Centre for Youth Mental Health to address the senior classes in his school talking about young people’s mental health. He also arranged an information stand on youth mental health at a recent school open day. The grand finale event took place in the Schull Community College and involved students giving out chocolates, with music provided by a gorilla playing the drums and local bands.

CSR or Corporate Social Responsibility is paramount within CEA. Since the company's inception in 2000 CEA has consistently invested in giving back to the community that surrounds it and Children's day 2014 was another great opportunity to do so. A member of the CEA team had brought it to attention that a local school was holding Children's day on Thursday 9th of January and asked if they could support, the decision was unanimously approved. CEA agreed it would give five lucky children a one year scholarship and give away stationery sets and ice cream on the day of the event.
The School 'Wat Mai Nern Payom' is located just two minutes’ drive form CEA Headquarters in Ban Ao Udom, Si Racha and houses over 500 children, it is an integral part of the Ban Ao-Udom community.
A team of CEA volunteers lead by QC Manager Khun Krittapas were in attendance to supply free ice cream to all the children, as it was such a hot day this soon became the most popular attraction! After the traditional Thai dancing CEA Yard Manager David Johnson presented one year scholarships to the five lucky children, this was met with rapturous applause by fellow pupils and parents alike, the children then partied on well into the afternoon full of energy thanks to CEA's Ice Cream!!

O2 today (Weds) launched a new online mobile phone recycling scheme, O2 Recycle, in aid of Headstrong, the National Centre for Youth Mental Health. Through O2 Recycle, customers on any network can get up to €200 for old mobile phones, iPods / MP3 Players, digital cameras and Sat Navs, plus O2 will donate up to € 5* to Headstrong for every device they receive. To recycle your old devices simply go to www.o2.ie /recycle.
The amount each customer receives for their mobile phone or other electronic device depends on the condition of the item which is tested and paid out by O2’s recycling partner, Redeem.
Tony Bates, Director of Headstrong, said: “I would encourage everyone that received a new phone or iPod this Christmas to put their old device to good use – recycling them with O2 will secure much needed funding for Headstrong so that we can continue working to change how Ireland thinks about young people's mental health.”

Chambers Ireland announce that nominations for the 2014 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Awards are open. Now in their eleventh year, the Awards were launched by Mallen Baker, renowned UK-based speaker, writer and strategic advisor on CSR. The awards are run in association with the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government, partnered by Business in the Community Ireland, and sponsored by BAM.
