The CSL, ('L' stands for 'leicht' in German, or 'lightweight') is based on the 3.0 CS coupe, continued to win races even into the 1980's, although production ended in 1975.

This amazing white E46 M3 CSL was subject in one of my photoshoots. Personally I'm a great fan of the CSL, and I had a great time shooting this car. After the shoot I did a nice lap on the Nürburging Nordschleife with the owner. Thanks Stephen!

CSL 3290 heads east under the C&NW at Mayfair. Behind the photographer would be where the Kennedy expressway would go in a few years. Photographer and date are unknown.
