CSBs are primary health facilities which offer essential health services - led by a doctor, nurses and midwives - including diagnosis and treatment of a range of common illnesses (including dispensing of key medicines) and antenatal and delivery services. CSBs receive referrals from community sites and also refer more complex cases on to regional hospitals.

The Government of Madagascar, the World Bank and The Power of Nutrition are partnering to reduce child undernutrition in Madagascar. The programme is scaling a newly defined minimum package of nutrition and primary healthcare interventions in high burden regions in support of the government’s National Nutrition Strategy III.
