Uma is a two year old Thoroughbred /Belgian Cross and is working well in the round pen. She is well over 15 hands and is maturing nicely. She is handled everyday and has a great, loving personality. She ties, loads, hauls, stands for the farrier as well as bathing.
She is a great horse and a great prospective Sport Horse for just about any sport. Excellent Hunt, Eventing, Hound, Dressage, Competitive Riding or Driving as well as Pleasure or Trail Riding prospect. Uma is eligible to be registered in both the Performance Horse Registry and the American Warmblood Association. She has the potential for a big future with the right owner. When the M8 motorway was cut through Glasgow in about 1970 several associated concrete structures were included in the grand plan. On my first visit to Glasgow in 1971 this bridge was clearly intended for all pedestrians. On a later visit I found the road planners, acting in an unusually humane manner, had accepted that most pedestrians avoided the bridge and were dashing across the roads, so two pedestrian crossings were provided.

The Butter Cross, also known as the Market Cross, is definitely shown on the 1611 Speed map for Oakham. It's so named because dairy products were sold here. It may also have been a preaching cross, and it's one of 5 crosses in the town. Underneath the roof is a set of 5 hole stocks.

I was raised catholic but beginning at a very early age, I had too many disagreements with "man-made" religion to continue to be a follower. I am still moved by the faith of others and certain catholic rites but I prefer to follow my own understanding of God.
Common Garden Spider, sometimes called Cross Spider because of the cross on its back. It's a species of Orb Spider, so called because they hunt from the centre of an orb web. This one's a female.
