One of our lovely craftivists Rosa made these beautiful cross stitch patterns for people to use. You can make them in to Mini Protest Banners, patches for your clothes or accessories, whatever way you think people will see it and think about the importance of voting.
If you are going to use this pattern we would love to blog your piece on our group blogspot and ask you to write a summary about why you did your craftivism project etc. please email craftivist-collective@hotmail.com
If you like Rosa's designs please check out her other beautiful work at mylittlestitches.wordpress.com/ and
I lived around here from 1977 to 1982/6 - I went to college in 1982, and the house was sold in 1986, about ten minutes before the first round of property price insanity began.
Not much has changed - there are more shiny plastic signs and more evidence of corporate sponsorship all over the place, and more estate agents.

A view of the ceiling at the Crossness Pumping station in South London. This central feature has some beautiful decorative iron work. The station is currently being slowly restored to its former glory and it is open to the public a few times a year.
It's well worth a visit if you can put up with the smell of the nearby sewage works.
Made with magnesite cross shaped slabs and some great czech glass beads that have the look of old trade beads.
At the south end of the Skeleton Coast and a couple of hours north of Swakopmund , Namibia is the Cape Cross seal colony, a seething, smelly, screeching, barking, squabbling mass of between 100,000 and 200,000 seals.
In 1486 Portuguese Diego Cáo landed here and erected a stone cross in honour of John II of Portugal. It is quite a desolate place unless you are a seal, in which case you would thrive on the abundant fish supply and undisturbed surroundings.
Fragment of a 10th Century Viking + Anglo Saxon Jellinge Cross in St Andrew's Church at Middleton near Pickering. During the conflicts between Danes and Saxons, Danish lords incorporated local Christian iconography into sculptures as a display of their military power. This one shows a warrior with forked beard wearing a helmet and a knife on his belt

Before World War I, the Red Cross offered first-aid, water-safety, and public-health-nursing programs. During the war it staffed hospitals and ambulances and recruited 20,000 registered nurses to serve the military. Some Red Cross nurses, above at state headquarters in 1917, also fought the Spanish flu epidemic of 1918. Photo courtesy of the South Dakota State Archives.
