The age of this cottage is difficult to date but 1653 is marked on the building. Legend says that Oliver Cromwell hid in a chimney of the cottage but there is no real evidence of this. However, Cromwell's soldiers, attacking Royalists defending the city, may have used the cottage for a night's rest

The 86th Airlift Wing Public Affairs morale patch was created using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Using a photographer, broadcaster, tools of the trade and aircraft, the design highlights the public affairs documentation mission. Those same elements are used to create a skull, symbolizing the grim reaper and the old adage that photographs steal the subject as soul.
