The feathery filament called pappus makes it looks like a white puffball. Now it reminds me of the coronavirus COVID19 with the ACE2 spike protein that attaches to the bodies transmembrane ACE2 receptors that are throughout the body especially in the nose and lungs, the virus first point of entry. Treatment with an anti-ACE2 antibodies disrupts the interaction between virus and receptor. Unfortunately a certain percentage of healthy people can’t produce these antibodies, say 5%, leading to severity of infection. Elderly people with comobidities are slow to produce these antibodies and suffer greatly.

Pretty quiet out there all weekend probably from the virus. The trails were basically empty. Stay safe everyone!

Keeping the neighborhood children from being bored as they take walks with their families, keeping 6 feet from other kids and their parents -It's fun for them to spot Teddy Bears in windows! Our chihuahua, Maya, is monitoring the sistuation!

People are adding flags to the sea of flags, remembering those who died of COVID-19 across the United States.

Each flag was a life lived, loved, laughed, cried, suffered, celebrated, remembered...

By the time this was shot on Oct 2, 2021, the death number had exceeded the number on the sign.

2020 was the year of the pandemic. The pubs, theatres and museums closed. We started to wear masks and we were not allowed to travel. Too many people got seriously ill or died. This photo encapsulates 2020 for me: Edinburgh on a beautiful day, empty streets, the tourist shops closed and yet full of exuberance.

I got back from the hospital just two days ago.

I wish you and your families to be safe from this deadly disease

I apologize because I will not be able to reply to you personally (even because I am full of pains and bedsores...) but be sure I LOVE all your nearness and friendly dedications.

Yours faithfully, ciao, Marco
