Auckland, New Zealand

We all knew that if I acquired Covid 19 in combination with my underlaying Alpha-1 things could get a little tricky. I came back from Jersey on the Thursday, felt a little grotty on the Friday, ill on Saturday, tested positive on the Sunday and into hospial on the Monday and I have been here ever since! I was started on Dexamethasone and Paxlovid and had to be supported with oxygen. This morning, a bit like the parting of the Red Sea, my fever is down, headache has gone more importantly no breathlessness at rest so got out of bed and hopefully on a mends although Covid can throw swerve balls when you think you are getting better. Unfortunately at home my eldest, Abigail is also unwell and testing positive as well as Melanie who tested positive on Thursday night. All this and we have been vaccinated and boostered, just shows you that Covid is still out their and must not be taken for granted....

I am now waiting for a double negative Covid test and the all clear to get home but this may depend on Melanie and Abigail's status first, needing to be double negative before I am discharged, then the long hall of getting better and stronger over the next couple of months and hopefully no "Long Covid"

I have my laptop so in the meantime I shall continue to upload some photos when I feel up to it, still got all the Jersey photos to post, got to stop the brain fog and boredom somehow, must be getting better!

In a few days humanity will begin, with vacination, the greatest world battle that has ever occurred on Earth.

It will happen without respite! Until the final victory!

Caroline set up these teddy bears in one of our front windows early in the covid-19 'stay at home' order for a neighborhood teddy bear tour she organized. They remain on duty to put a smile on someone's face. 🐻

This is my wife Pam. She is a Front Line Warrior in this war against Covid-19. I wanted to take a break from the wildlife pics to honor her and all those that are subjecting themselves to the virus for the sake of others. They are working long hours under difficult conditions to battle this pandemic.

She had a rare Friday off work (still working the weekend) so we took some time at our local park. We were looking to photograph deer but I couldn't help but point the camera at her. I'm so proud of her and so honored that she is my wife.

Please do something nice for anyone you know that are on the front lines of this battle. A kind word will go a long way right now.

Stay safe.

Stay healthy.
