To have Cosmos blooming at the end of October is unheard of, and I'm loving them.

I haven't got developed 3 rolls of films since September. I'm out of photos now, so will upload some of my archives for a while.

"Colorful Cosmos - Magenta" by Patti Deters. A single magenta pink cosmos blossom (Cosmos bipinnatus) shows bright against a field of yellow wildflowers. Vivid pink petals with a yellow center are a popular color of this annual plant, which is reminiscent of a daisy. Also sometimes called garden cosmos or Mexican aster, this simple flower is very pretty whatever it is called. Cosmos
These beauties are still hanging on brightening our winter months. To think I was disappointed that they took ages to start and flower and they're lasting so long.
I went out to take images for the Macro Sundays theme Flower. Not actually sure this is macro but I focussed on the detail in the flower centre and I played with creating a soft looking image.
Again this year I've grown Cosmos in my garden. I tried some this year that had tube-like petals but to be honest I prefer the plain or bi-coloured original ones. This is a pink one with the sunlight shining through the petal and the inside lit with a bit of fill in flash.

Cosmos are herbaceous perennial plants or annual plants growing 0.3–2 m (1 ft 0 in–6 ft 7 in) tall. The leaves are simple, pinnate, or bipinnate, and arranged in opposite pairs. The flowers are produced in a capitulum with a ring of broad ray florets and a center of disc florets; flower color is very variable between the different species. The genus includes several ornamental plants popular in gardens. Numerous hybrids and cultivars have been selected and named.
