I bought this Cosmos mixture back in November and was so surprised when so many different colours came out. Sadly due to the heat (we have 40C today and 42C predicted for tomorrow), they are not doing so well at the moment, but I have noticed a couple new leaves have sprouted, so maybe we are in for some more flowers soon.
Many years ago I visited a conservatory in Seattle. I went to admire the tropical plants and get a break from the dreary weather. A grandmother was there with her young granddaughter. They walked around a corner and the little girl reacted to a beautiful plant. I will never forget the response from the grandma. She said to the girl "that is so beautiful, doesn't it feel good to be alive!" A wave of emotions hit me. I couldn't recall ever hearing an adult say that to me when I was young. After that incident I made it a habit to frequently tell myself how good it does feel to be alive and to be able to experience the beauty of Earth.
A carefree flower loved by bees and other pollinators. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Thank you everyone so much for sharing your quality photos which is a great way to see and keep in touch with the world from home. Also for your kind comments and favours which are much valued.
I am not able to take on any more members to follow or to post to groups. I prefer not to receive invites to groups
These beautiful delicate flowers are just beginning to bloom in my garden. I love how they bloom in early summer and last until the first frost! :-)
The little burlap bag held the favours at my granddaughter's wedding... I was annoyed that I didn't notice that the "S" was not showing after I had processed it!! It was so appropriate as her last name is "Strong"
Wishing you all a good day and weekend ahead,,,, I will be busy with family visiting,,,, Thanks so much for your visits

Happy Sunday!
I bought this mix of Cosmos flowers for the garden. A lot of the flowers are not doing well during the heatwave conditions, but hopefully they will come good again.
We had a southerly come through last night which cooled the temperatures down dramatically and we had a lovely night's sleep. Today was only 25 C (a bit different to the 41 C on the weekend), but it is only a temporary relief. It is expected to be 41 C again tomorrow - oh no!!
