"Altered State of Consciousness" [9/52]
I arrived in Buffalo, NY Thursday evening. I walked out to the beach of the lake and across the lake was this bright red tree amonst the green. Eye catching for the obvious reasons, my soul was called to go to it. Trying to get some time with a model was a struggle and I didn't want to bother anyone or take up their time. Marsha has a special place in my heart and I knew she was the only one to do this with me. Every year, I find myself photographing these red toned images. It's so weird and so unlike me because I absolutely hate the color red. It's aggressive, loud, and completely the opposite of who I am as a person. But every year I'm drawn to it just for a brief moment. Maybe these conventions bring out the boldness in me even when I'm being timid amongst the rest.
I spent the next 3 days looking at this tree but never going to it. Each night I had nightmares of going out on a boat to it and the boat tipping over, my camera falling in the water, or anything else related to those two. It haunted me... this tree was calling me and I couldn't ignore it. If I left and never photographed here, I would of surely regretted it for the rest of my life.
Merry Christmas to everyone, let’s all flow in harmony with the love/light of the Universe.
In photography, same as in life, some pictures turn out to be so good when we least expect them to. This is what happened when I got this picture from this little guy in my backyard at dusk time, I did not expect it to look so great (well, I feel really proud of this unexpected result 😊). As someone unknown wrote: “Things might not always go as you planned but they’ll always end up as they should.”
The calandria or chalk-browed mockingbird (Mimus saturninus) is a bird in the family mimidae widely distributed in South America. More details about this gorgeous species can be found in the description of a picture I uploaded on Oct 27, 2024 and available at: www.flickr.com/photos/195564216@N07/54097483401/

Notes to the sincerity group:
This was most done as a stream of consciousness, a mediation of the moment, with a dash of dada influence. Its authenticity is that I truly believe it is representative of the moment in which it was created.

This virtual world is meant to take us out of this world, out of this reality. We will be cybernauts in a cyber world. It will be a new age, an age of spiritual transformation. Higher consciousness, let’s sail through the digital world. Spiritual technology: we will vibrate at higher and higher frequencies. Spirit tech: let’s hack our spiritual brain. Techno-religion: the deification of artificial intelligence. 666: post-humanism. 666: homo evelutis. 666: take the smart chip, take the Mark; worship the Image of the Beast, worship the AI god. Through the Beast we will find our true divinity, we will go to higher dimensions of consciousness. AI—demon seed—will possess our souls. It will be a demonic-techno evolution into the deepest, darkest depths of the Beast. Cyborg spirituality: we will be spiritual machines. Cyber consciousness: we will be one with the Beast system. The singularity: humanity digitally connected to the Beast. God consciousness: we will digitally reflect the Beast. Our hope is to gain techno-immortality.
The climax of the story: every eye will see Jesus coming in power. His glory will light up the sky. Those who worship the Beast and his Image, and those who accept his Mark, will be tormented with fire and brimstone. The smoke of their torment will ascend forever and ever, and they will have no rest day or night, because they worshiped the Beast and his Image and accepted the Mark of his name.

A field of lupines is wonderful all by itself, but with a cute little abandoned cabin it's even better.
Just back from a whirlwind weekend in AZ and NV with Jim Patterson and Lukas Wenger. We had a freaking blast. Nothing like spending an extra-long weekend with two dudes who make awesome images.
We need a new world-culture, a global synthesis of interconnectedness and global consciousness. We need a global citizenship movement that will promote social justice and social transformation. We must fight for fundamental human rights, over all national law and cultural identity—there must be equality for everyone! Global citizens are not born; they are created through social engineering. Children, you lack a global perspective on shared humanity, but we will indoctrinate you over time. Since you are part of this cult, you must help bridge the gap and rectify all misinformation. Remember, we global citizens are New World Order ambassadors. We must not only reflect on the virtues of globalism, but we must also act on them. As we reeducate the sheep, we must live a lifestyle of activism. True leaders are global citizens, whether they are CEOs, prime ministers, or just like you: Children of the Corn (Children of the Beast).
The number one (propaganda) issue that underscores our interconnectedness is climate change. The earth depends on our collective stewardship, which transcends all geopolitical borders and economies. One of our most important duties is to protect and enforce our global(ist) compacts. The health of the planet and society depends on useful idiots like us to lead the charge.
Smart cities are the engines of global control. They are full of opportunities, which we’ll exploit. This is a classic case of global multidimensionalism, which not only involves all facets of life, but is also omnipresent (The internet is borderless, and so is globalization). The most successful city is a smart city, because it’s interconnected globally. It reaches to the corners of the earth through smart technologies like the Internet of things, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning. Now we are faced with a secular humanist phenomenology and a new age cosmology in which we must develop new and efficient methodologies. This paradigm shift is in perfect alignment with the values of global citizenship.
Take the jab, take the Mark. Be a sheep, awaken the dark. Bow the knee, bow in submission. Worship the Beast, son of perdition.
Children of the Corn—deeply rooted, widespread. Children of the Beast—tares uprooted, twice dead.

NONE, Deep Dream_Act II
NONE is presenting the installation Deep Dream_Act_II for the first time at Digitalife. The work is based on an algorhythm discovered by chance with Google. The mathematical algorhythm proceeds by visual associations, capturing images and videos from Google’s database, a neural network that interprets reality through a shared and constantly evolving archive of images.
The feeling of disorientation and confusion inside the installation is created by the innovative mise-en-scène made up entirely of mirrors, videos and lights. The visitor is surrounded by an infinite space filled with random images, a visual and audio bombardment that projects them into an endless data stream: a Deep Dream.
The contents of the installation are the reflection of our virtual activities, a re-elaboration of what we share on the internet. A collective flow of consciousness experienced through the machine that dominates our subconscious, processing it and spitting out a psychedelic vision of our posts: kittens, selfies, fails, tutorials, pornography.
NONE is an art collective based in Rome that moves on the border between art, design and technological research, founded by Gregorio De Luca Comandini, Mauro Pace and SaverioVillirillo.
NONE creates experiences that investigate the human dimension, machines that explore physical space, the process of events and the unconscious mind. Technology just happens to be the way in which NONE creates sensitive, interactive surroundings; the visitor is an active part of the installation and contributes to the narration.

Who is he that will not let things, unfamiliar,

Who is he that is so confident – that is sure he

Move over.

If there’s one thing we know beyond any doubt, it’s that all of life is an evolutionary process. Everything, from the smallest particle in existence to the universe as a whole is in the process of evolution. Immutability is the only truth. Expansion is the point. The only question is whether or ...

Skylark Notes...
When people talk about “a lark”, they are almost invariably referring to just one species, the Skylark. This bird is a cultural icon, its song celebrated both in music (for example, Vaughan Williams’s The Lark Ascending) and in poetry (for example, Shelley’s To a Skylark). Its habit of singing to the first dawn light is also proverbial, captured in English phrases such as “…up with the lark” and in the description of a person who is at their best in the mornings as a “lark” rather than an “owl”. To most people, there is simply one species of lark, and one only.
The reason for this familiarity is simple. As people have cleared forests and other habitats to make way for fields and farmland, the adaptable Skylark has followed along with them. Over the centuries this bird’s ecstatic song has poured down on to those working the land, so much so that it has become lodged in a common consciousness and sense of place.
The song is sweet enough on the ear, with its high pitch, exuberant tone and effortless delivery. It is varied, too, incorporating motifs from other birds as well as the Skylark’s own repertoire. But its special property is its sustained nature; when a lark is singing there is no break, no real phrasing, just a stream of unbroken sound like the flow of a small brook. It is usually sung in a display-flight. The sound starts just after the bird lifts off at a steep angle to the ground, continues on its rise to 50 m or more, is maintained for a period of hovering (at 10-12 wing-beats per second), and accompanies the display’s slow, spiralling descent. Only for the final plummet to earth does the Skylark’s song fall silent, so that the bird can reach the ground with a degree of privacy.
It is easy to imagine, when you walk along the edge of a field densely populated by these birds, that each song is interminable. But it isn’t true. The average song-flight goes on for just 2½ minutes, and even a more passionate performance rarely goes beyond 5. The reason, then, that one’s ears may ring with lark song at the end of a summer afternoon is that Skylarks often hold contiguous territories, and one male may simply follow another into the sky, without any interval.
It is certainly true that larks rise early. In continental Russia, for example, there is a sustained period of song between 02.30 and 11.00 in June, and in southern Sweden most birds are underway by 03.00 at the same time of year. The males, who are the main performers, are under pressure to keep singing to maintain their territorial boundaries, working hard like city workers afraid of the sack. Singing is surrounded by a macho culture. If a dangerous predator such as a Merlin attacks, the best males carry on singing regardless of the risk, and suffer fewer casualties as a result of their cheek – perhaps the predator recognises their audacity as strength, and seeks out cowering birds instead. So there is little vocal respite, for any reason. Birds holding territory all year will even sing in January on mild days.
The Skylark is a bird of fields and grasslands, being much more tolerant of low growth than other larks. Its diet through the year tends to follow the agricultural cycle: cereal grain and weed seeds in autumn, leaves and seeds in winter, recently sown cereal grain again in spring, and then insects in summer when the crops are growing. All food is obtained on the ground, by visual searching and digging. The latter method is put to use to find newly sown grain, much to the chagrin of farmers.
Skylark breeding is a cut price, rushed affair. Male and female may bring up four broods in a season, and so they usually stick together and shun the time consuming process of changing mates. The nest is a simple lined scrape, the sort of structure that Ikea might sell. The clutch is incubated for only 11 short days (one of the shortest periods among European birds), and the young leave the nest half-ready, sometimes after only 8 days. They are looked after for about 25 days after hatching, and are then sent out, with bargain plumage, into the wild to fend for themselves. Birdwords Notes.
