In India, Republic Day commemorates the date on which the Constitution of India came into force as the governing document of India on 26 January 1950. The 26th of January was chosen to honour the memory of the declaration of independence of 1930. While India's Independence Day (August 15) celebrates its freedom from British Rule, the Republic Day celebrates the coming into force of its constitution.
Many years ago I was a shy closet girl who only dressed at home with the curtains closed. Not anymore though: over the years my looks improved and my confidence grew and nowadays I enjoy going outside too. I love showing my photos here on Flickr, just for myself but also to inspire and encourage others to feel free and be who they want to be. Be brave girls and go out; you'll love it!
One of Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge's wild ponies roams the evening woods on Virginia's Eastern Shore.
Last Week, Charlie got seventh place out of twenty. I was hoping for a better outcome, but I understand that there are many amazing people. This week I hope for a better score. I am really confident in this photo, I think she looks gorgeous. Thanks!
Meeting Maria was a peculiar event. Not because of her but how it took place. I was out shooting a long exposure of a ferris wheel, just before the fair was about to close for the night. While I was waiting for a shot to complete, Maria's sister approached me and asked if I could take her sister's picture. Haven't had that before... She was very proud of her beautiful dress and understandably, wanted to show off.
The most difficult part about this picture was getting the lighting right on the first time. I always feel rushed when shooting with strangers and feel like I can't take my time before they lose interest. However, I'm very happy with this one. Isn't she a beaut?

Just like most other T-girls I have felt feminine all my life, also as a child. Later on I started dressing and although I loved it I was also very insecure at first. Over the years my wardrobe and looks gradually improved and I also noticed that many people like T-girl Paula. This helped to improve my confidence and nowadays I feel assured and at ease as a girl. For me this is key to be truly happy: feeling free to be the girl I am, knowing that others appreciate and love me for who I am.
I always hope that my photos here on Flickr inspire and encourage others to feel free and be who they want to be as well, and also find the blissful happines that I feel as a girl.
