A mallard drake powering up the pond towards me as I left to go home. This was the last in-focus shot of the morning. I threw out over a hundred failed attempts at flight captures.
I reached 21 million views early today! Thank you very much to all those who have looked at my photos!
A little blue heron with its eye on dinner, or it could be checking itself out in natures version of a mirror.
This bird was shot in lighting conditions I hate, bright high noon sunshine.
Le deuxième Petit duc à sortir de la cavité nous a donné beaucoup d'émotions. Il grimpait, retombait, regrimpait. Le voici prenant une petite pause tout en observant l'arbre sur lequel il devra faire un nouvel essai.
The second Eastern Screech Owl owlet to come out of the cavity gave us a lot of emotion to watch. It was climbing, then falling and reclimbing again. Here it is taking a little pause observing the tree on which to give it another try.

I am a relatively inexperienced bird photographer and am still getting used to the optics of a telephoto lens compared to a macro lens that I am much more used to. The photo was taken quite late in the afternoon and shot at 4000 ISO and f/7.1. I like the softness of the image.
Thank you for visiting. I appreciate the kind comments and faves very much.
… this guy is busy cleaning up a scratch from the top of his left forearm. Kept at it until satisfied, despite the horrible faces his younger ‘cousins’ were pulling on the other side of his window.
He then turned his back and walked away in a most dignified way, completely ignoring his unruly audience.
A Black Crowned Night Heron hiding in the dark during the day. This species is most active at night hunting for fish.

A re-process of a favorite eagle image taken at Smith Rock in evening light. This eagle came slashing through the trees with a fierce look of determination in its eyes.
