...on a circuit board.
For Macro Mondays: "Small and Smaller" theme, it's a demonstration board from Universal Instruments Corp. that I've had for many years. The company builds automated machines for placing and attaching components--both small and smaller--to circuit boards.
The image measures just 1 5/8-inch on the long side.

Sint Nicholaskerk is the most seen and at the same time overlooked church in Amsterdam as well as being one its most recent constructions, no one can miss this iconic structure upon arrival to the city walking from Centraal Station your eye is immediately drawn to it at 58 m in height it towers over the city skyline.
This Roman Catholic Church was designed by Architect Adrianus Bleijs and is a nod to the past combining elements of neo-Baroque and neo-Renaissance styles, completed in 1887 it was made a minor Basilica in 2012.
The church is dedicated to the 4th century charitable patron saint of children that became our Santa Claus as well as the patron saint of sailors and prostitutes, another winning combination.
In the Netherlands Santa Claus is known as Sinterklaas and a feast has been celebrated for over 700 years in his name and adopted in the early part of 20th century the tradition of leaving small gifts in children’s shoes was practiced on Dec 6th which has evolved now to become a Dec 5th evening tradition of gathering of family and friends to exchange gifts and laughter.
While Dutch Sinterklaas celebrations are mainly for the children its adult component is an annual grievance poem written to the recipient that must rhyme and be read out loud by the subject at the evening party all in good fun but beware you may get as good as you give.
I took this on Sept 10th, 2017 with my D750 and Nikon 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens at 58mm 15 sec f/16 ISO100 processed in LR, PS +Lumenzia, Topaz , Luminar and DXO

Secretary had to make a (minor) repair to his valued old oscilloscope. And when he already had it open on the table, he couldn't help but portray the inside.

As with much of Oppenheim's earlier work, Trees: From Alternative Landscape Components act as a dialogue, this time between the natural and artificial landscape and as a comment on the act of creating environments.

this is the last picture of the night photography series with this dark, greenish contrasty processing. I might use this workflow again, maybe with some additional or slightly changed components.

The components of a large music band, taking advantage of the moment of rest of the procession inside the cathedral, took the opportunity to regain strength. His instruments, too.
A few things that would go into a bowl of cold cereal for hot summer mornings, Craisins, Shredded Wheat, and Fiber One, (not shown optional) walnuts or almonds and honey, yeah and of course the milk too, to finish it out with.
"Complexity characterises the behaviour of a system or model whose components interact in multiple ways and follow local rules, leading to non-linearity, randomness, collective dynamics, hierarchy, and emergence.
The term is generally used to characterize something with many parts where those parts interact with each other in multiple ways, culminating in a higher order of emergence greater than the sum of its parts. The study of these complex linkages at various scales is the main goal of complex systems theory.
The intuitive criterion of complexity can be formulated as follows: a system would be more complex if more parts could be distinguished, and if more connections between them existed." (WP)
» (WP)

47280, 245 working in multiple power away from Swindon at Stratton Green with 4M03, the 08:15 Swindon Rover to Longbridge car components train. The 10 KSA wagons were fairly new at the time and would contain car body pressings for Rovers cars which were assembled at Longbridge (Birmingham). Unfortunately the Rover group went into receivership in 2005 which saw the daily trains come to an abrupt stop. The former Pressed Steel pressing plant was taken over by BMW and now produces Mini body panels, the cars assembled at Cowley in Oxford. A trial train was run for a potential new flow to Cowley but it came to nothing and road became the preferred option. The Swindon factory has been rebuilt over the last 20 years.

The presence of a Conrail SW7 and NW2 in electrified territory was not unusual – it commonly occurred in electrified lines of Pennsylvania, New York Central, New Haven, and Lackawanna lineage. The Niagara Junction Railway, a terminal road in Niagara Falls, New York, was jointly owned by the New York Central Erie, and Lehigh Valley railroads. When all three, or their merger descendants, were folded into Conrail, the electrified Niagara Junction became an unremarked component of the new merger. While it’s reasonable to think that diesels ran under the wires for interchange purposes, the presence of these EMD switchers in the former NIAJ servicing area is a bad omen. In a matter of months, the juice will cease flowing through these wires.
