Silicon Valley honored six heroes in their community for their acts of courage and compassion at the Heroes Centennial. This year Celebrating 100 years of service to the community.
Dr. Richard Slavin honored for a Lifetime Achievement Award and five other honorees whose acts of heroism or compassion have had a lasting and positive impact on Silicon Valley. These five are: Disaster Services Hero: Quyen Mai, Disaster Services Heroes: Ric Smith and Jenna Garner-Smith, Health and Safety Hero: Nadia Ghaffari, Health and Safety Hero: Dr. Harpreet Pannu , Service to the Armed Forces Hero: All the Way Home Campaign.

This original sculpture "Compassion" by artists Michael Angelo Menconi & Charles Lowrie was made on May 30th @ Elements Glass Studio in effort to aid relief around the world via, Doctors Without Borders. This 14" round multi-dimensional sculpture will be auctioned off though the Transcensions website for the month of August 2011, the bidders can email bids in. The artists agreed to donate 100% of the proceeds to Doctors Without Borders, so the winner of the auction will be asked write the deductible check directly to: Doctors Without Borders.

The Compassion Experience is a free event featuring an interactive journey through the true stories of children living in developing countries like the Philippines, Kenya, Uganda and the Dominican Republic.
The experience is 2,000 square feet of interactive exhibit space where visitors step inside homes, markets and schools — without getting on a plane. Lafayette, LA. Friday, Sept. 22, 2017.
