The item in the foreground is the Companion Cube from the Portal game - a fabric and stuffing copy of one, at least. Behind it is the monitor on which I am playing Portal 2.
My two girls, Teddy (red) and Taber (blue). Taken Jan. 13th 2011 in a very large snow bank outside our house. Teddy is two days away from celebrating her 15th. Birthday. She is my most beloved companion.

Using only hand gestures and a few words of Turkish, I asked this couple if I could take their photo. They were sitting among the tulip beds on a park bench in Istanbul on a cool morning in April, 2006 in front of the Blue Mosque. Tourists were snapping pictures of the Mosque. I wanted to capture the heart and soul of the country, this couple, life’s companions…
The rest of the folks we were with on this night, all of whom are San Franciscans.
Lynda, Jonas, Karen and Tony.
Felis catus
This beautiful cat decided to join us as we walked around the Rococo Garden at Painswick.
His coat was exceptional; wonderfully glossy and like velvet to touch.
A really friendly individual, he ended up on my wife's lap while I went off exploring.
This shot highlights the length of his vibrissae, which are extremely sensitive and are able to distinguish between smooth and rough textures, objects of different sizes, as well as determining whether he can fit through a gap.
Better on Black.
Chocolate chip cookies frosted to look like companion cubes (sort of). Chocolate chip cookies weren't the best choice since they don't have a smooth surface and are tough to make square... should have made actual roll out cookies instead.
EDIT: choco chip may have been a little bit difficult to work with but were DELICIOUS with the icing & marzipan.
