These scans come from my rather large magazine collection. Instead of filling my house with old moldy magazines, I scanned them (in most cases, photographed them) and filled a storage area with moldy magazines. Now they reside on an external hard drive. I thought others might appreciate these tidbits of forgotten history.
Please feel free to leave any comments or thoughts or impressions... Thanks in advance!

Day 29 - Camp Jabez Open House
This was taken with my 50mm f/1.8 II and set to B/W in Lightroom. :)
Melody (Light hair) and Sue (dark hair). :) The Open House for camp was today! It was amazing. Even though it was pretty cold (around 45 degrees...brrr...compared to the upper 50's and low 60's we've been used to!!) , everyone had a good time.
Sorry this isn't as sharp as it should be. Taking pictures of Sue is really, really, really hard...since she thinks she doesn't look good in them and will only stand still for a half second to let you take one. :) So I had to be really quick, and didn't have time to put the dot exactly where it was supposed to be. This is actually a pretty good picture of Sue. Love her!! I can't imagine life with you, Lovely. :) I love how when I look into her eyes in this I can just feel her warmth and love. :D

I'm thinking about adding some purple :D

The BHAA K-Club 10KM Road Race and Fun Run 2013 was held at the K-Club Golf and Hotel Resort, Straffan, Co. Kildare, Ireland on Saturday 20th of April 2013 at 11:00. This was a superbly organised road race which absolutely stood up to it's very high standards set on the previous two years. The race started and finished near the Palmer Smurfiff Course Club House on the Golf Course. Parking was provided nearby and a fantastic spread of goodies were served afterwards. The race took a route out on the country roads on the edge of the resort with a loop of 3km ran twice before returning back to the finish. This collection of photographs are from both the start and the finish of the race. We have photographs from the winner crossing the line until about one hour five minutes on the timing clock. This race has grown year on year and at this year's showing will continue to sell out for years to come. Well done to everyone involved. This is a credit to volunteered athletics and road racing events in Ireland.
The BHAA (Business Houses Athletic Association) is a work place athletic organisation who’s aim is to facilitate colleagues to run together in a series of races. They organise a series of properly managed cross country, trail and road races over the year. To learn more about membership, fixtures, etc you can visit their website bhaa.ie/. You do not need to be a member of a company or BHAA organisation to take part in any of their races.
Overall Race Summary
Participants: Approximately 500 people
Weather: Dry, with nice sunny spells. There was a stiff breeze acting as alternating as a tail and a headwind at various parts of the course. Temperatures about 12C.
Course: Completely traffic within the Golf Course - a loop of 3KM on open country roads was followed twice. Traffic marshalled by Gardai Traffic Corps and marshals.
Refreshments: An incredible spread of refreshments from sausages, to large cookies, pasta, scones, cakes, etc. One of the finest after-race spreads we have seen.

I ran the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set!
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.
If you want to contribute something for these images?
We do not charge for these images. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that the image(s) you request are good enough that you would ordinarily pay for their purchase we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.
Don't like your photograph here?
That's OK! We understand!
If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible.
Comments always appreciated, as long as you keep it clean - I love to hear your feedback! xx
Like in September last year, we went to London to meet up with Gemma's Brother Graham, his Husband Bruce and their friends who were over from Florida!
We also met up with our lovely friend Vicki.
We spent all Friday night in The Friendly Society, our favourite bar in Soho. Such a quirky, diverse place which lives up to its name!
We had such an amazing time!

Our annual September visit to Newcastle.
Saturday night we started out at The Yard where we met the lovely Chloe. Then we went to see the Ladyboys of Bangkok, and they were amazing as they always are!
We got our picture with them on stage at the half time interval too.
Very funny - they guy on our table got chosen and brought up on stage for one section, and he abviously absolutely loved it!
We finished the night with Ellie in Rusty's bar.
For a summary of the critic, see: www.artspace.com/magazine/art_101/art_market/what_did_cle...
Greenberg favored art that skillfully addressed formal problems, such as how to make paintings that are interesting up close as well as from a distance. When we move close to a late Titian painting, forms dissolve into brushstrokes that seem to make mysterious motifs of their own. This metamorphic effect (lacking in the paintings of Rubens, for example) was one solution.
Pollock's action paintings achieve the goal in a more completely abstract way. Rhythms and forms emerge from other rhythms and forms like eyes from the foliage of a forest. In space we see that the constellation has within it other patterns of stars.
At the spectrum's other end, the microscope reveals that 90% of the cells our bodies contain are actually something other than human. What is terrifying is revealed as the teeth of hitherto un-glimpsed depth. Within our own bodily form, there are other bodily forms seething within.
The complexities we can see through the telescope and the microscope are comparable to the potentially infinite richness revealed by Greenberg's close, zoomed-in, attention to the formal (purely visual) qualities of art.
But some artists and critics objected that art was being drained of meaning by Greenberg's tendency to value form more and to value representation less. They felt that Greenberg's approach encouraged art to become too aloof, too emotionally distant from the real world. They were similar to those who complained that society was being made lonelier and more alienating by the modern attitude which valued efficiency and marketability more than the human-ness of individuals.

Anyone else notice this? Yet another change in the beta phase, but will come soon enough to ruin everyone's lives once again.
I'll admit, the initial changes were a disaster, but I did grow to accept them. The only real thing I liked was the changes made to the mobile app.
However I don't think I can handle this change. If I want to see photos this large, I'll click on it. I'd much rather keep what we got now.
For more information about the changes, click here.
