I present here, on Flickr, a series of stolen and not stolen shots, rescued from oblivion, taken on the streets of Taormina, a tourist town on the eastern coast of Sicily. I took many photos by lengthening the exposure times, thus achieving a “blur” effect; I took portraits, especially of very nice couples, one of Chinese origin who got married in Taormina, one from Holland, another from Germany, portraits of very sweet and very nice Chinese girls, a very nice girl portrayed while she was working in a pastry shop, of the artist Leopoldo, a theater actor, who I had the pleasure of photographing (and posting) on several other occasions.
Presento qui, su Flickr, una serie di scatti rubati e non, tolti all’oblio, realizzati per le strade di Taormina, cittadina a vocazione turistica, della costa orientale della Sicilia. Molte foto le ho realizzate allungando i tempi di esposizione, raggiungendo in tal modo un effetto “blur”; ho eseguito dei ritratti, segnatamente di simpaticissime coppie, una di origine cinese che si è sposata a Taormina, una proveniente dall’Olanda, un’altra proveniente dalla Germania, ritratti di ragazze cinesi dolcissime e simpaticissime, una simpaticissima ragazza ritratta mentre lavorava in un laboratorio-pasticceria, dell’artista Leopoldo, attore di teatro, che ho avuto il piacere di fotografare (e di postare) in diverse altre occasioni.

Early morning at the Bondi sculpture by the sea. I love it at this time of the day. No crowds yet. In fact, the local joggers and dog walkers tend to outnumber the visitors.
As usual, i'm starting at the Bondi end of the walk. In the past, i've done the early morning walk, stopped for a meal break and read the catalogue of what i've viewed at the Tamarama end. And then walked back to Bondi amidst the jostling crowd for a second view.
This time, i only did the trip one way. But i still felt i got my money's worth. Oh wait, it's free isnt it! (But i always fork out for their catalogue ... still only $10, and totally worth it).
The "Coming Soon" sign is one of the artworks. Icebergs popped up several times during the walk.
Price for this sign? ... just $$9800 for 1 of an edition of 2!

A quick peek into Francesca's Collections, as you can see the entire store was gutted and work is underway to turn the former Janie and Jack into Francesca's Collections, this store actually started life as a Thomas Kinkade Gallery store, then when that closed it became Janie and Jack and now it's regenerating into Francesca's, will take pictures once it opens!
