It's hard to beat chiles rellenos For pure comfort in a meal. With Monterrey Jack Cheese inside and a fluffy omelet outside and smothered with a toasty sauce and topped with Cheddar Cheese along with a few sauteed onions it's just a plain yummy dish.
Although residents around the California town of the same name claim to have invented the cheese, an even if the USDA granted the name in 1955, the heritage of the cheese if far different.
So who really invented the cheese that became the famous Monterey jack cheese we know today? Franciscans in the 1700s!
Monterey Jack cheese was brought to California from Spain, via Mexico by the Franciscan Monks of the 18th century. Prior to Spain, the cheese most probably came through Majorca via Romans from Italy. Hence, being a "descendent of the semi-soft Italian cheeses that fed Caesar's armies."

We visited this hospice on the island of St. Vincent. There have been few times that I have seen so much pain in one place. Soul rips to shreds.
I chose to photograph Jon when smoking, as the bright light above him caused harsh shadows. It was perfect lighting to get a sharp image, which contrasts well with the blurred smoke.

Hitting the half-way point on the tour, the Vicks Comfort CAREvan rolled into Indianapolis this past weekend and was a great success! Kicking off at the Circle of Lights holiday festival on Friday night, where a line formed before we even opened, the CAREvan hosted more than 1,200 visitors, 18,000 product samples were distributed, 140 family portraits were taken and nearly 30 Caring Tributes were recorded.
Local FOX TV interviewed our local pharmacist spokesperson, Winnie Landis, who was also on hand throughout the day to answer consumer’s questions about Vicks products and how to treat cold, cough and flu symptoms. The FOX segment aired on FOX 59 WXIN at 10pm (Saturday, 11/24).
Recently I lost a friend to brain tumor. I made this granny square shawl out of Paton Brand lace yarns for his widow. with deep sympathies.
