Come and enjoy your Christmas Day with us. We always have rooms available.
Greater Manchester Police has launched a spoof website that shows how spending a night in prison is a truly unforgettable experience that can have far reaching negative repercussions on your life.
Logging onto the Drunken Disorderly Inn takes visitors to a hotel-chain style website that features tongue-in-cheek videos, photographs and information on what it is like to be arrested, booked into custody and spend a night in a prison cell.
The website is GMP’s latest tactic to raise awareness of the consequences of alcohol fuelled antisocial behaviour and violence in an engaging way that can easily be shared through Facebook, Twitter and other social networking media.
Sections cover how ‘guests’ are transported in ‘blue-light limousines’, how their details are inputted on the police national database and all their possessions taken off them for safekeeping from ‘ the burglars, robbers and thieves that frequent our premises’.
Other sections cover the ‘nouveau stark décor theme’, compact rooms that are fitted with extra stout doors, locks and state-of-the art CCTV and frills-free hygiene and exercise facilities.
The website has been produced in-house by the Force and features response and custody officers.
Greater Manchester Police Assistant Chief Constable Garry Shewan said: “For thousands of people in our county a few drinks out in the local bar or club are an integral part of celebrating Christmas and the New Year. The vast majority of people do this responsibly ensuring they and others have a good time and go home safe.
“Excessive drinking can however lead to a selfish binge-drinking minority getting involved in drunken violence and antisocial behaviour such as swearing, shouting and criminal damage.
“They can be assured that we will be watching out for them and will have no hesitation in putting them up for the night.
“Please visit this website before you go out and share it with your friends. Although it is tongue-in-cheek it carries a serious message highlighting the cold, stark experience of being taken into custody and how it can damage your reputation, relationships and work prospects.
“Please enjoy yourself and stay safe this Christmas and remember it’s your night out and your choice. Don’t spend it with us.”
Police are offering the following advice to people who may be planning a night out over Christmas:
·Pace your drinks
·Stay with friends
·Plan how you intend to get home safely
·Take a taxi you can trust
·Don’t ruin it for others

"I may seem naive if I cry as you leave
Like I'm just one more tortured heart
These cracks that I show as I'm watching you go aren't tearing me apart
I keep believing he'll come around soon."
-Sara Bareilles
Munnar is a beautiful hill station, and was the summer resort of the British. Tourists come here to see the vast tea plantations of the area. The town itself is typically Indian with the usual shops, guest houses and is really beautiful and traditional. It is a good place to stay to see the surrounding countryside. It is also a popular place for Indian honeymooners.
The town is divided into two parts, Old Munnar, where the tourist information office is, and Munnar, where the bus station and most guest houses are located.
Munnar is famous for its tea plantations, many of them started by the British. The "Kannan Devan" brand of Tea from the Tata is cultivated and processed here.
There are more than 30 tea estates in and around Munnar. Among them, most of the plantations are taken over by the Tata's Group Kannan Devan Tea Estate. Some of the major tea estates in Munnar include Harrison Malayalam, AVT Tea, Michael's tea, Brooke Bond and Tata Tea. It is one of the biggest centers of tea trade in India.
Until 1790, Munnar and the surrounding area were forests covered, when they were first recognized by the European known as Duke of Wellington. Later in the year 1870, a subordinate of the ruler of Travancore, leased 588 sq. km of land to a Scottish tea planter named J.D. Munro, who was the lawyer in the employee of the Travancore Government. The first tea sapling was planted by A.H. Sharp at Parvathi, which is currently the part of Sevenmullay estate. Presently the whole area is covered by the mile and miles of lush tea gardens, owned by the various private companies.
For the tourists information, Munnar itself is the most popular and picturesque hill stations of Kerala, located 1600 to 1800 meters above the sea level. It is popularly known as the 'Kashmir of South India'. The peaceful environment and perfect serenity makes it a famous hot spot among the tourists from all around the globe. Along with the valleys, mountain streams and tea plantations there is lot more to discover in its surrounding area.
Tourists can make a visit to the famous tea museum opened by the Tata Tea group. The museum puts light on the important fact and figures about the growth of the tea plantations in Munnar. It contains curios, old photographs, machineries and other things which have been used since long time. It provides the first hand experience to the tourists about the tea processing and the operations that go into the making of black tea. Some of the major items that are displayed at the museum are the original tea roller, used in earlier time around 1905, than the 'Pelton Wheel', which was used in the power generation plant in the 1920's, a rail engine wheel of the Kumdale Valley Light Railway.
I have been very good in recent years. All right I've tried to be the best father, husband, son, brother, in-law, friend, neighbour, colleague, doctor, trainer, tutor, examiner etc that I can be.
Although my D70s wasn't broken, I had become terminally irritated with its foibles. Not the image quality, TBH, it was capable of very good snaps. But we had irreconcilable differences.
And, to be frank, I felt I was worth a treat. And so did Dr Mrs M. Eventually. In fact, after about a year of concerted persuading, she acquiesced. Not gracefully, admittedly: more kind of "if you really must".
Initial reaction: wow! Its such a step up, I feel distinctly unworthy.

As always comments & feedback are welcome.
I used the cuddle monster design from Urban Threads to jazz up some plain green underpants I bought. I added the text "buttzilla" near it just for fun!
First Berkshire are reshuffling their Bracknell network from this Saturday, 16th August 2014.
One of the routes affected is the service to Camberley, the half hourly 194, and latterly (due to competition from Courtney Buses) the hourly X94.
Both will be withdrawn, replaced by a new service 94, running every 20 minutes. It will run 194 route between Bracknell and Sandhurst (via Pinewood Crossroads) and X94 route between Sandhurst and Camberley (NOT via Owlsmoor).
Courtney say, other than timing changes, their competing hourly 194 service will remain the same. This means Owlsmoor will now only be served by Courtney's 194.
In the last week, Beeline Citaro 64019 (LK03 LNF) is seen about mid way up College Road, making its way between College Town and Owlsmoor. This section will no longer be served by the 94.

Einer meiner Lieblingsplätze in der Stadt Zürich, eine kleine namenlose Ruheoase an der "Leuengasse".
come and break this heart of stone,
breathe new life into these bones,
call me lovely call me true,
you make me lovely just like you.
Fall always smells like new beginnings. I'm learning, I'm loving, and I'm content in Jesus Christ my Savior. How humbling this simple life can be; if only you have the eyes to see.
