I was wandering a field one day and saw a clump of clover flowers....for some lizard brain reason I felt compelled to eat them...they were very sugary. How did my brain know that? Then I thought about all the squirrels that probably peed on them...ugh...my brain can be so mean.

White Clover has always interested me as it makes up a good portion of our yard. If you do a search on clover you'll find it also interests plenty of other people. Here's my current take on the White Clover.
Rolling around in the grass with the Buttercups, I couldn't help but notice the clover. I grabbed a little bloom for a closer look in my "studio" and this is the shot I processed. I was quite surprised to find not one but at least three hitch-hikers with one aphid in plain sight, waving to me I think. Did you find all three?
Shot with: VOIGTLANDER, 125mm f/2.5 SL, MACRO APO-LANTHAR @ f/8, 48 Layer Focus Stack Rendered w/Helicon Focus. Silver sparkle paper for background but lightened up in post.
Trying to find a texture for the background proved to be a problem for this image. I think the high key quality of the bloom caused the textures to be a bit too much. Here it is for now, you might see it again if I find a suitable texture, we'll see.
Some people have asked about the set-up/process I use to photograph flowers (and other subjects) in my "studio" with focus stacking. In the first comment, I tried to document the set-up a bit with the previously posted rhododendron bloom. I hope you enjoy if interested.

Clover flowers are so tiny that their beauty can only be seen well with the help of a macro lens.

Clover or Trefoil are plants in the legume or pea family. In the past, I would heartily rip any clover out of my garden and try my best to stop it from spreading. Then I learned how important their flowers are to pollinating bees....and how clover actually helps the soil. I've found I can live more comfortably with them. :)

Traditionally, a shamrock is a three-leaf clover. Why three leaves and not four? According to legend, St. Patrick used a three-leaf shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity, with one leaf representing the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, respectively.
One of the locals seeing what I was up to in the yard and grabbing some clover for breakfast. This one has a notch in the right ear, it’s tough being a rabbit, everyone wants to eat you.

Clover flower in the lawn.
I need to take photos every day. If nothing else to shoot, I will find something in the lawn 😂
Tokina 100mm f2.8
Clover's reputation has waxed and waned over the last century. Once considered a sign of a well-managed lawn, clover came to be considered a weed only after broadleaf herbicides hit the market.Today, gardeners are growing wise to the plant's many benefits. They plant clover to improve soil health, attract beneficial insects, and promote a healthy lawn.

Meaning "Think of Me" a very apt message in these strange and troubling times .. let's all think of each other since I've not mowed the back grass all summer and it is now covered in white clover flowers which look great as the summer sun shines through their petals.

Crimson Clover - Trifolium Incarnatum
(Plus Sheep)....
Came across this field of what I thought was Clover, but did'nt recognise it as one I had seen before...
Crimson clover is widely grown as a protein-rich forage crop for cattle and other livestock. It can typically be found in forest margins, fields and roadsides.
It is sown as quickly as possible after the removal of a grain crop at the rate of 20-22 kg/ha. It is found to succeed better when only the surface of the soil is stirred by the scarifier and harrow than when a plowing is given. It grows rapidly in spring, and yields an abundant crop of green food, particularly palatable to live stock. It is also suitable for making into hay. Only one cutting, however, can be obtained, as it does not shoot again after being mown.
In Great Britain it is most valuable in the south, though less successful in northern regions.
It has been introduced into the United States, originally as forage for cattle. It is often used for roadside erosion control, as well as beautification; it tends, however, to eliminate all other desirable spring and early-summer species of native vegetation in the area where it is planted.
So there we have it!

Thank you for your visit, most appreciated!
One of the beauties of a macro lens is being able to have an insect's eye view of the natural world. For many years I would valiantly attempt to remove clover from my flower garden. However the more I learned about the importance of clover in a pollinator's life, the clover now shares space with my perennial flowers.
Trifolium pratense
Trébol rojo
- trifoliate (with three leaflets). The flowers are dark pink with a paler base, 12–15 mm (0.5–0.6 in) long, produced in a dense inflorescence, and are mostly visited by bumblebees. It is widely grown as a fodder crop. Due to its beauty, it is used as an ornamental plant. Red clover's flowers and leaves are edible, and can be added as garnishes to any dish.

This honeybee was working the clover in our side yard, and I didn't have time to get out to a lake, so I took advantage of the local sights!
