An abundance of clouds reflect at Lock 8 - I & M Canal. Three exposure HDR processed with Nik HDR Efex Pro 2

The monsoon clouds have dropped enough rain for the New Mexico landscape to go green. What a welcome change of scenery. After almost a year of parched earth, the land is breathing again.

However, the clouds stick around until 2-3am and sometimes all night, putting a severe crimp in my ambition to photograph the night sky. Oh well, ya can't have everything.

today the sky was full of unusual interesting clouds... have just found out what they are and what caused these.

Fallstreak Holes occur when the water temperature in the clouds is below freezing but the water has not yet frozen.

These water droplets need a nucleus to freeze or to be cooled below -40 °C.

When ice crystals do form, it will see off a domino effect due to the Bergeron process, causing the water vapour around it to freeze and fall.

This leaves a large hole in the cloud.

With lockdown here there are really few crowds in churches.

Edit: Removed most of my caption as was maybe offensive.

The clouds looked pretty cool today and the rain has finally stopped, for now anyway :)

Standing somewhere under Cloud Gate, I took this shot looking up at the underside of the sculpture.

……Another shot from Shugborough in Staffordshire (N/Trust) a blue sky day with puffy white clouds and their reflections - what more could you ask for?!…..

Smiling clouds gathered over a valley in Ladakh Himalayas, India

I took this photo yesterday evening, in between the frequently passing rain clouds. Thankfully I had a nearby tree to shelter under when the heavier rain came along.

HSS....... sometimes it pays to look up :)

and this is why i always carry my dear little canon p&s in my pocket

Storm Clouds strong winds and rain along with the clouds and still here today, North Carolina weather.

Visitors on the upper floating ramp at Cloud Forest Dome, Singapore.

The Cloud Forest Dome replicates the cool moist conditions found in tropical mountain regions between 1,000 metres (3,300 ft) and 3,000 metres (9,800 ft) above sea level, found in South-East Asia, Middle- and South America. It features a 42-metre (138 ft) "Cloud Mountain", accessible by an elevator, and visitors will be able to descend the mountain via a circular path where a 35-metre (115 ft) waterfall provides visitors with refreshing cool air.

What an incredible opportunity!! I have never been this close nor photographed this rare big cat. They are very solitary, really shy and are rarely seen in daylight.

Due to deforestation and poaching, they are identified as vulnerable on the IUCN red list. I thought I would never get such an opportunity and it was a wonderful morning indeed to see such a curious Clouded Leopard.

Fact of the day; Clouded Leopards do not roar... but they do purr.....!!!

The severe drought that had affected much of Catalunya had broken and these massive overwhelming clouds over the Garraf Massif were a sign of more rain to come. Now months later reservoir levels are still far below normal and we wait for more rain.
