Seen at 9:52 AM from Córdoba, Argentina

Yesterday's post had a bit of color. I decided to up the ante today. Found this little beauty in a residential neighborhood in Kansas City.

Locatie: Zwolle, vanaf de Hanekampbrug.

today the sky was full of unusual interesting clouds... have just found out what they are and what caused these.

Fallstreak Holes occur when the water temperature in the clouds is below freezing but the water has not yet frozen.

These water droplets need a nucleus to freeze or to be cooled below -40 °C.

When ice crystals do form, it will see off a domino effect due to the Bergeron process, causing the water vapour around it to freeze and fall.

This leaves a large hole in the cloud.

Pretty cloud at sunset at Canberra.

Clouds are fascinating in so many ways--the processes that create them, the forms they take and how they function in the larger Earth system. But sometimes they are just cool to look at. I imagine this one capable of opening up like a giant clam and gobbling up a community.

For scale, the rising steam below the cloud in the lower center is from an ethanol plant a few miles from where I was standing.

With lockdown here there are really few crowds in churches.

Edit: Removed most of my caption as was maybe offensive.

The clouds looked pretty cool today and the rain has finally stopped, for now anyway :)

Standing somewhere under Cloud Gate, I took this shot looking up at the underside of the sculpture.

PIEMONTE-ITALY ( Nuvole senza pioggia)

On Monte Baldo, no view of lake Garda due to the clouds, but the clouds have thein own charm. It is nice to see them rolling over the mountain and the landscape is constantly changing.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This photo was taken during the setting of a full moon, just before it dipped behind a large layer of clouds.

I took this photo yesterday evening, in between the frequently passing rain clouds. Thankfully I had a nearby tree to shelter under when the heavier rain came along.

The severe drought that had affected much of Catalunya had broken and these massive overwhelming clouds over the Garraf Massif were a sign of more rain to come. Now months later reservoir levels are still far below normal and we wait for more rain.

I couldn't make up my mind how to crop this. So I've ended with a hotch-potch of differeht attempts.
