We walked through a city of Brittany, just I can not remember which, but for the type of photography I think it does not matter much, when I saw this street artist painting his picture of the day, because the next day there is nothing left.

Everything has its trick and street artists know that if someone sees a painting on the floor and a box with coins, usually passes by, but if the artist is present and you see how it goes adding colors here and there, you entertain looking as he paints and at the end, you strips something in the coin box.

Perhaps he would like more to paint great works of art, but one day realized he was not a genius of painting, and painting in the street would gain much more money than hanging his paintings in a gallery.

Absorbed in his work and full of remnants of paint everywhere, he did not care anything or anyone. Touching up went on and on without even looking up from his work. Perhaps he was happy, or maybe not. I guess his biggest concern should be that the dark clouds lurking in the sky, not end in torrential rain, since then, all their work hours would go down in a few minutes.

Good money is earned, but he gambles every day because in these latitudes, the chances are that sooner or later, fall a cloudburst.

But that's life.

Our patio bistro table captured from inside my back door just before we had the mother of all cloudbursts. Back later because at long last I have an appointment with my dental hygienist I hope her power hose is working because two and a half years is a long time to go between a scale and polish 😄

I love when you can see it raining in one specific spot but not all around.

Its also interesting how the rain seems to start so low to the ground. Is it always like that, and we just can't tell when we're under it?

When I was little I always imagined, without thinking about it much, that when it rains its raining everywhere for miles around and its falling from way high up. Now that I've started paying attention to the weather and photographing it, I see that quite often its raining in only one little spot at a time and the rain starts pretty low to the ground. But maybe its just that I can only see it clearly when its like that, and other times it does rain from higher up and over larger areas, and then I can't get the perspective to see it from outside?

I'd never been on this path before and was excited to see where it went and what new vistas might open up. After taking this photo, I got a few steps along the path when the sky opened up in a big, quite unexpected cloudburst. I had a T-shirt and shorts on. No adventure for me today!

While Bastian was out guarding the gate last week, a sudden cloudburst hit. It was over as soon as it started, but he did get wet...

An autumn cloudburst at Clay Cliffs Natural Area.

A torrential downpour of hailstones and rain for over an hour today accompanied by thunder and lightening. We have had a thunderstorm each day for three days now... but today was the heaviest! Loved it1 I put the camera in a plastic bag and made a hole in it so that the lens poked through. Worked very well.

Bridge Lake, BC

Canada

Bridge Lake sits at an elevation of 1136 m / 3727 ft, has a surface area of 13.76 km2, and a total shoreline perimeter of 47 km (the main shoreline is 30 km / 20 mi, and the combined shoreline of the islands is 17 km). The lake has 26 scattered islands. One island is an inland refuge for the Bonaparte gulls while another is a home base for bald-headed eagles. You can catch kokanee, lake trout and rainbow.

The small community of Bridge Lake, located in the Interlakes district of the Southern Cariboo, was originally situated on the historic Fur Brigade Trail. The Fur Brigade Trail dates back to the early pioneer days of fur trading and was a combination of waterways and overland trails, used to connect trading posts. After the construction of the Cariboo Wagon Road during the 1860s the Fur Brigade Trail became redundant.

The beautiful Interlakes area is aptly named the “Fishing Highway”, as anglers can access over 300 lakes, making this one of the best fishing spots in British Columbia.

Summertime is the rainy season in Kunming, the capital of the Chinese province Yunnan. Nevertheless I enjoyed the two summers I spent there very much. Most of the time the sun is shining just the same, and the temperatures are very mild, because this far south city is located at an elevation of 1,890 metres (6,200 feet). They rarely exceed 30°C (86°F), whereas the heat in the rest of China becomes absolutely unbearable in the summer months.

Last week I was again with my family in the Swiss Alps. And my intention was to find some wonderful spring spots. But apparently the weather god had other ideas as you can see in my image here. I must confess that I never had such an extreme experience of falling temperatures and snow storms in April. In less than a couple of hours the area was completely converted into a winterwonderland … and damn … it was really icy cold!!! And my thoughts belong to all the farmers I know from this area here. One week later after I made this shot here I heard that they lost all grapevine due to the extreme temperatures below zero degrees. Everything was destroyed!!! But at this point in time when I made this shot here I tried to go up a mountain … I couldn’t care less about harsh weather but I must confess … it was not so funny to walk in a snow storm and therefore my hike was really short. If you could zoom in you would see how much it was snowing in the distance and how strong the wind was. My location had only a small break and I could see a cloudburst. I had not much time to set up my equipment with my new filter system and to make this shot here.

Yes, I have a new filter system. I never used to have one because I was never happy with the results. Normally for the most of my images I use my 14-24mm Nikkor lens. And to find a fitting filter system is not very easy. Several years ago I bought the one from Leefilters that suits the need of a 14-24mm Nikkor lens. But I was so disappointed about the results. Vignetting, color cast and the nightmare to put the system on this particular lens. I’m talking about to put a part of the filter system behind the lens … I mean you must detach the lens from the body, attach this part behind the lens, attach the lens again with the body and finally attach the rest of the filter system on the front of the lens. And all this in a possible snow storm ha ha ha … what a nightmare and what an adventure. I never never used it again!!

Well, since a long time I was reading so many good things about my new system from Lucroit! So simple and so effective in any ways! I’m so happy and so impressed about this filter system!!!! This is indeed my first image I used this new filter system. Attached in only a few seconds without removing the lens from the body. No vignetting and no color cast! Wow … really wow! Here I only used a circular polarizer to capture the extreme light conditions and I hope you enjoy my new work.

Thank you for your time and interest in my photos, your visit is most appreciated.

Blue on the Cariboo - A welcomed break in the cloudy overcast

Bridge Lake (historically known as Greater Fish Lake) is a lake in the Interlakes District of the South Cariboo region of the Interior of British Columbia, Canada.

The lake contains rainbow trout, kokanee, lake char and burbot, eagerly sought by anglers.

I'm off Ito Cowbridge today to take down the exhibition . It's been a really positive and everyone has been so kind. I went yesterday with my daughters and met someone there who wanted me to do a slideshow for them this autumn winter. I think I was surprised that all my wildlife photos sold, I never realised others shared my love of adders ;) It was quite daunting trying to present about 65 pieces for showing, but the hardest part wa selecting which images. It's lovely to think people's walls will have my photos and paintings gracing them. I guess it'll be quicker taking the exhibition down than putting it up. I think I'll give away some of the unsold works to all my wonderful friends who helped me on the opening night. Zorbing is by Stornoway. This was one of the hundreds of photos that didn't make the Final Cut.

I was sitting in my car the other day when there was a cloudburst.. I liked the splashes of water. on the screen..

Taken on last full moon at Coolum beach.

The clouds were clearing after a storm and in fact there was still some storm activity in the distance which can just be seen in the pic.

The 2 min exposure worked a treat on the clouds.

Thanks for all the views comments and faves, very much appreciated.

We started out with rain this morning; but the temperature was warm so I won't complain. As an added bonus, the sun came out later on in the day.

But otherwise, while it was a busy day, it was fairly uneventful so there's not too much to report, other than a shoutout to Jo; it's birthday! I hope she wore a party hat all day long and was offered copious amounts of cupcakes!

Hope everyone has had a good day.
