As my contacts already know, the color white projects purity, cleanliness, and neutrality, aids mental clarity, encourages us to clear clutter or obstacles, evokes purification of thoughts or actions, and enables fresh beginnings. What could be clearer? No wonder I live here...;-)))

From my trip in 2016 to Kobe and Osaka. The Osaka train station is very impressive Iin many respects, size, cleanliness, organization and architecture.
This shot was my last one from the Dam Boat Guys tour and is of the locks that separate the canals from the wild water it also illustrates the lock in use with other boats coming into the canals.
While looking at the canal water you wouldn’t think it is very clean but three times a week these locks are closed on one side of the city and fresh water is pumped from the Ijsselmeer creating a current to the open locks on the other side of the city keeping the water from being stagnant.
The canals have come a long way in cleanliness in the past 50 years and it actually brought wildlife back to the city with 20 different fish species and crabs living in the canals along with the waterbirds that hunt for such prey like gulls, ducks, herons and cormorants but that being said they still haul upwards of 13,000 bicycles out the water annually.
A funny story not canal related but bird related is that a pet shop owner that hated the sound of parakeets so much he let loose the pair he had in his store in 1976 was rewarded with them breeding and now they scream everywhere throughout the city with over 6000 green necked parakeets serenading all with their noisy songs.
I took this on Sept 9th, 2017 with my D750 and Nikon 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens at 58mm 1/80 sec f/11 ISO2000 processed in LR, PS +Lumenzia, Topaz , Luminar and DXO

The architectural beauty of Porto train station is breathtaking. And the blends of new and old are seamless, creating a visual hybrid that pleases the eye and serves its functions. The cleanliness, the stylish surroundings and the poetry of spoken Portuguese wafting through the air still linger in my brain.
"Teaism is a cult founded on the adoration of the beautiful among the sordid facts of everyday existence. It inculcates purity and harmony, the mystery of mutual charity, the romanticism of the social order. It is essentially a worship of the Imperfect, as it is a tender attempt to accomplish something possible in this impossible thing we know as life.
The Philosophy of Tea is not mere aestheticism in the ordinary acceptance of the term, for it expresses conjointly with ethics and religion our whole point of view about man and nature. It is hygiene, for it enforces cleanliness; it is economics, for it shows comfort in simplicity rather than in the complex and costly; it is moral geometry, in as much as it defines our sense of proportion to the universe."

A person might be an expert in any field of knowledge or a master of many material skills and accomplishments. But without inner cleanliness his brain is a desert waste.”

I composed this image of St. George, Utah, while hiking in its Paradise Valley. St. George is one of my favorite small American cities. It features wide avenues,, cleanliness, beautiful surroundings and - in my experience - a relaxed and happy citizenry. Additional information about the history of St. George is provided below.
The Virgin River Anasazi were St. George’s earliest residents, inhabiting the area from approximately 200 B.C. to 1200 A.D. They left behind rock art and ruins of their dwellings.
The Pauite tribe arrived between 1100 and 1200 A.D., utilizing the area as a hunting ground for deer, rabbits and other animals. The Pauites also grew crops along the riverbeds, including corn, wheat and melons.
In 1776, the Dominguez-Escalante Party became the first recorded European-Americans to visit the area. Fur trappers and government survey parties followed.
In 1854, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (also known as the LDS Church, or Mormon Church) established an Indian mission in Santa Clara, two miles northwest of present-day St. George. The church set up experimental farms in the St. George Valley in 1857-1858. In October 1861, church leaders called 309 families to establish the Cotton Mission. After the outbreak of the Civil War that same year, LDS Church President Brigham Young felt it necessary to grow cotton, if possible. Paying homage to the nickname of their former homes, these settlers called the region “Utah’s Dixie.”
St. George, Utah was named in honor of Mormon apostle George A. Smith, also known as the “Potato Saint” because he urged early settlers to eat raw, unpeeled potatoes to cure scurvy.
In 1871, work began on the St. George LDS Temple, which became a cooperative effort uniting many Southern Utah communities. Mormon Apostle Daniel H. Wells dedicated the temple on April 6, 1877. It was the first temple constructed west of the Mississippi River. The structure is the longest continuously operated Mormon Temple in the world.
