Situated in the western central part of Bhutan, Thimphu is the only city in Bhutan and also the capital of the country. The ancient city of Punakha which was the capital city was replaced in 1955 when Thimphu became established. In 1961 it was officially declared by the 3rd Druk Gvalpo, Jigme Wangchuck (King of Bhutan), to be the country's capital. Before 1960, Thimphu consisted of a group of hamlets which were scattered across the valley including Changangkha, Changlimithang, Langchupakha and Taba. The city is spread out in a north-south direction on the west bank of the Raidak River at an altitude ranging between 2,248 m (7,375 ft) and 2,648 m (8,688 ft) and this makes it the fourth highest capital in the world. The surrounding hills rise to a height of 3,800 m (12,467 ft).

Terézváros means "Theresa City" and is named for St. Theresa and in honor of the Habsburg Empress (ruled 1740-1780). The neighborhood is an architectural treasure trove, especially ow work from the late 19th century up to World War I; many structures are now in use as embassies or in intututional use.

This was one of the dioramas we had at out annual Lego event in Stormen Library in Bodø every first weekend of advent (either the last weekend of November or first weekend of December) where we have a huge exhibition, building activities, animation lab, competitions, talks and more. It was visited by 2500 people in 2025.

This is a diorama created by the leader of our Lego club, Kim, and his wife Elisabeth, with some help of Frode, another member of our club. It's a mixture of MOCs and official Lego sets. Beautiful, isn't it?

Gabtoli is situated at the eastern end of Dhaka city. A place, which lies at the side of the Turag. The blue waves of the water, the port, the markets, everything here has a story. A story of the hardworking people, who work to earn food for themselves and their family.

The city is beautiful for it's people, it's story. And it was a matter of luck that I had this blueish photograph of the Turag and the Gabtoli port. It was taken with my Samsung Galaxy J3. The photograph shows an evening moment of the place.

Renovations under way on Bourke House, at 145 Russell Street Melbourne, a vaguely-interesting art deco-ish construction in a hard-to-beat location. A fine deco staircase, or stairwell.

Downside: traffic noise.

Florence is the capital city of the Italian region of Tuscany. It is the most populous city in Tuscany, with approximately 370,000 inhabitants, expanding to over 1.5 million in the metropolitan area. Florence is famous for its history : a centre of medieval European trade and finance and one of the wealthiest cities of the time, it is considered the birthplace of the Renaissance. A turbulent political history includes periods of rule by the powerful Medici family, and numerous religious and republican revolutions.
