Tomnaverie Stone Circle is a recumbent stone circle set on the top of a wee hill near Tarland in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

Construction started from about 2500 BC, in the Bronze Age, to produce a monument of thirteen granite stones including a massive 6.5-ton recumbent stone lying on its side

The old tree died....the new tree is born

In Earth orbit...

My husband has enjoyed MacroMondays for as many years as I have. He asks the theme and then heads for his computer man cave or garage work space and brings me little tools.

This is a grouping of something called round stock in metric sizes with a twine wrap to keep them together. When in a tight circle they measure about 1 inch/ 2.54cm, but I couldn't quite figure out how to stand them to capture that tight circle. Someday...

Did you ever think that we really are orbiting entities in circles of infinite posibilities? Those closer to the centre of the circles being just born and those on the outside on the way out.

We actually form the circles and without us there would be none...b.mikic

For Macro Mondays "Geometry shapes"

As old trees bend and decay, new ones burst into colour in the swampy parts of Princess Point. I could have used snow shoes here. I framed up this shot over the course of a minute, and didn't realise I had sunk into the thick mud over my shoes in that time.

Macro Mondays - Circles. For those old enough to remember the game KerPlunk. The circles are from the holes in the center of the game where the sticks are placed to hold the marbles. I put a piece of colored cloth behind the holes to give it some pizzaz.
