Chipped his tooth at work.

So gross. You can see the grease!

The light was great last May 25; the 366 Snaps pix not so much. Most were overexposed. Many were of birds at the birdbath.

This Chipping Sparrow photo was the best-exposed pic of the session.

The Robin whose photo I posted a year ago is the same bird I told you about a week ago. (He still thinks he owns the place, by the way. He's a bossy bird.)

==========

This photograph is an outtake from my 2012 photo-a-day project, 366 Snaps.

Number of project photos taken: 73

Title of "roll:" Birds

Other photos taken on 5/25/2012: 'Twas a busy day on the camera front around here. In mid-morning, a few minutes before the "Birds" set, I'd tried making some arty pix of a female Cardinal, taking advantage of the high contrast light. That didn't work out, but the idea was interesting.

The Daily Flower Census (using the Nikon 1) occurred around the same time as the bird shots, and caught this photo of a new-planted Foxglove; in late afternoon I was deliberately experimenting with exposure on the same Nikon 1 and took this photo of the same plant. I learned a lot from this session; it changed the way I use the camera.

In the evening I dug out the Olympus C-50 I was planning to use as my June camera. While I was remembering how to use it one of the neighbor boys had a run-in with the family car--which filled the village with emergency vehicles (again) and ultimately led to the youngster being choppered to a Lansing hospital. Too much excitement. The kid wasn't seriously injured, thank goodness.

A chipper or chippy on the Sautmercat gait ('Saltmarket') o Glesca. Tho the spelling is Inglified, the eediom is pure Scots. In Scots we say cairry oot for food or drink that we buy tae tak hame or eat ootside the shop. The Inglis for cairry oot is "take away."

The Blue Chip Awards are an annual award show for local community access centers in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area. I was fortunate enough to win one with Becky Haltermon in 2014 for our video Josh & Becky Invade the "Little Green Men" Days Festival.

Meine neuen Chip und Chap Beanis :-)

(superkuschlig knuffig xD )

We went out for lunch today to the "oldest pub in England" or so the legend on the wall reads. However this is irrelevant when compared to the fact that they served proper chips. I had them with meat and potato pie, mushy peas and gravy. Yum yum yum, just the thing for a very cold wintery day.

Serve with playing cards or salsa.

I've got my chocolate in neat little rows . . . ready for some systematic devouring.

Carolina Chickadee (Poecile carolinensis). John James Audubon named this bird while he was in South Carolina. The curious, intelligent Carolina Chickadee looks very much like a Black-capped Chickadee, with a black cap, black bib, gray wings and back, and whitish underside. Carolina and Black-capped chickadees hybridize in the area where their ranges overlap.

This one was feeding on oak tree buds, apparently one its favorite foods.
