View through the wet windshield in the rainy night.
Mostly, out-of-focus lights.
Some multiple reflections between uneven air-water surface and water-glass surface causing a kind of coma and ghost.
Upper brighter area: Vehicles' lamps, traffic lights, and other illuminations.
Bottom darker area: All those reflected on the wet road surface.
Taken from a RIB in the sea between the Pembrokeshire coast and Ramsey island. The waves are caused by the tide and a group of rocks known as the Bitches.
Decided to do a scene today. Just a quick pic with my phone.

14th March 2024. The little pool under Bryer Court used to be home to about a hundred Ghost Carp. Unfortunately, the water is so shallow, and the fish got so big, that their fins and backs were often out of the water and they got sunburn. They had to be moved into the big lake and then they were moved with all the other fish in 2004 when the main lake was ‘refurbished’.
The Bryer ‘pond’ used to be full of bulrushes. Moor hens and their young were able to nest there in complete safety because, although the water is only a few inches deep, the foxes couldn’t get at them – they won’t go into water.
The Bryer Court pond was emptied and resurfaced as part of the major repairs to the surface of Beech Gardens, but has since been restored, albeit with less attractive vegetation.
Since 2019, Bryer Court pond looks more like a municipal swimming pool than a lake because the bottom has become an unnatural shade of blue. This is caused by a vegetable dye which is being put in the water. The purpose is to get rid of ‘blanket weed’ which, if left unattacked, can take over the lake. It works by filtering the sunlight and this prevents the weed from photosynthesising which it needs in order to grow.

Why is World Parrot Day so important to this cockatoo?
In late 2021, the rare and striking palm cockatoo had its conservation status reclassified from least concern to endangered following a recent population drop. Major habitat loss has been cited as the primary cause of the species’ decline. Australia’s palm cockatoos are found only in the rainforests of Cape York Peninsula, at the northern tip of Queensland. Land clearing due to mining and worsening bushfires due to climate change are shrinking the species’ already limited viable habitat.
Making matters worse, the palm cockatoo has an unusually slow rate of reproduction. Females lay only a single egg every two years. Research suggests that chick loss to due predation results in palm cockatoo pairs only producing—on average—a single offspring every ten years. There are thought to be fewer than 1,500 birds remaining in the wild. (Source: www.aviculturehub.com.au/)
While photographing in the Cape York Peninsula in November 2022, we went out five nights in a row to look for these birds as they came in from a day of foraging. We were lucky to watch this particular male on several nights when he called loudly to claim his territory and bring in his mate. See flic.kr/p/2oEf6eG for a photo of the pair.
It was incredible being able to watch these birds on multiple evenings and witness a wide range of behaviors including the famous drumming they do with sticks and hard nuts; this behavior has earned them the nickname "Ringo Star."
I have no idea if this chap is riding a bike like this because of the condition of his legs or whether the bike was responsible for the condition of his legs.

Note: "Vapor" is caused by low pressure areas created on the aircraft's skin and wings as it moves through moist air. As the pressure drops so does the temperature, and if the temperature reaches the saturation point, water vapor is created. Such conditions are highly sought-after by aviation photographers.

SSR train 4847N with C509, 1202 & RL302 haul the blue rake through a hazy Wentworthville on the long way to Nyngan to load grain. This train originated from Carrington and made the detour via Sydney due to maintenance works in the Hunter Valley causing a three day shutdown.
