.. ICMed & slidered .. happy Sunday !

.....enclosed by darkness in daytime, reveals himself during the night hours. The only reason for him to come back every night over and over again, is to see the world he loved so much. This is all he does and wants...... but people are so afraid of him....

With a bit luck, or bad luck..... You decide Yourself which.... You can see him, or at least divine him. Usually people are afraid of him..... but all that he wants, is to see the world he once lived in... the world he loved so much and longing to desperately. This is all he does and wants...... still.... people are so afraid of him....

Then he fades away every morning, when the first sunbeams reach the soil. And the place is deserted and silent again. This is all he does and wants...... still.... people are so afraid of him....

..... Are You ??

Dorian has been and gone, and life is returning to normal

I've heard there were no major causalities, just lots of water, trees down, and damage

Hope all is well

Missed your treasure and playing catch up

Much Love and thanks

I am paraphrasing Bogart of course, as he reminiscences about the courtship that ended abruptly with the Nazi invasion of France. Near White Coppice, Lancashire

...about the taxi driver in the little town Offerdal, situated were the woodland meets the mountains. Daytime he was driving the taxi car, which we calledd "droska" back then. And night time he was digging graves, when someone had to be buried.

His friends asked him if it wasn´t creepy and spooky, digging graves in the middle of the nights as he did. His answer always was, that you can´t be more safe than you are in a blessed graveyard.

One day his friend made up a prank for him. They should haunt him a night when he was digging a grave, and see if he really was that tough.....

For several days they planned what to do the specific night, and collected equipment like chains and white sheets. Every time they met him, they was struggling to not reveal themselves.

Then the night had come, and the taxi driver should dig a grave. The friends was prepared and at they positioned in good time before their friend arrived. When he did, he went to the shed getting a spade, looking over the graveyard and found the spot for the grave. His friends gave him lot of time to dig, and about midnight they started their show.

First they was chanting in a spooky way, but not showing themselves. No reaction, the taxi man just kept on digging.

Very well, he maybe didn´t hear them. So they started scream, shake the chains and some other metal objects they had found. Still no reaction from the tough man who was digging.

The last try was the white sheets, which they got dressed in. So they start dancing around on the graveyard, on safe

distance from the taxi driver...... for not be revealed as humans. Still no reaction, he just went on digging.

After a while, and he almost was done........ the friends gave up. They collected their equipment, but kept the white sheets on. While they was heading to the stone wall around the graveyard, the taxi driver was ready..... started to bring back his tools to the shed.

When the friends jumped up on the wall, for going home..... the taxi driver turned around shouting:

-" If you are up enjoying yourselves during the night, I don´t mind. But STOP leaving the property"......

The Hertfordshire Bawns have arrived and I’m waiting in anxious anticipation for the results of a PCR test taken by grandson Hamish yesterday, so the Bristol Bawns can start their journey for Christmas up to the North East. I know I would be no use to anybody yesterday so I paid a visit to the woods, hoping for conditions but more anxious to see if my favourite trees survived storm Arwen. The public have been advised by Forestry England to stay away as most of the paths are blocked by fallen trees, some in dangerous conditions. However as I hardly use the paths anyway I figure it’s what I encounter normally, I’m always navigating fallen trees and dodgy terrain. I can report the woods were not as bad as I expected with only one causality among my favourite oaks, Maitre d’ suffered a broken branch from a fallen pine. I spend most of day wandering the woods inspecting it was very peaceful with a light frost, I had soft light in valley where sun couldn’t reach but not the mist I expected. It’s probably better conditions today but I’m now sitting with my little Jesse processing this photo while he watches YouTube Christmas song, stopping every few minutes to pick another one or skip the adverts. So while I cross my fingers for the Bristol Bawns I leave you with this early photo from yesterday.

(Dam Frontier Between Two Usual States of Water II)

On the downstream side of the dam, coming from Italy, a mist was growing. On the upstream side, the reservoir of water was almost full.

The time to park, to drop the mobile phone (which allowed me to catch the mist before it overcame the dam) and to set up the usual gear, I witnessed the moment when the mist and the lake met...

Last year, I drove the same way and I took this pic that shows clearly the configuration and the dam's downstream side(www.flickr.com/photos/darblanc/49634075366/)

BNSF's East JY local, LTWI828, crosses one of the numerous "Prairie Pothole" lakes just east of Sanborn as it continues it's trip on the Jamestown Sub. The Prairie Pothole lakes stretch from Canada, down through the Dakotas, into Minnesota, and northern Iowa. With no outlets, the lake levels can significantly fluctuate with wet and dry periods. In 2009, there was quite a bit more dry land here. But after a wet year or two, the Jamestown Sub was nearly underwater. BNSF raised the causeway. And as you can see by the lighter color rock, the levels continued to fluctuate significantly since. A causality of this pattern can be seen with the abandoned homestead in the background, which has probably flooded several times by now. Since this shot was taken, the barn has collapsed.

1963 and 1603 were still on this job a year after I had first seem them (link here). Although, 1963 had since acquired a pair of AC units. Apparently, the crews like the 1603 a lot and the locomotive was still calling the JY home recently. The 1963, however, has since been repainted into standard H3b and now resides in Texas.

The conundrum of light is such a fascinating topic. In photography it is essential, because without it, there is only dark. Combining its fleeting path with dark shadows helps accentuate elements and direct attention. But light is far more than that. It is causality, it is the speed limit of the Universe, it is a measure of time, and so much more.

As we do our best to trap its presence with technology, we snare a moment that can never be precisely repeated. Although we can not tell, our planet is hurtling through space, while we are privy to minute changes in the landscape. Tomorrow, this spot will be the same, but also different.

On February 11, 2022, Cleveland-Cliffs announced it would be permanently closing its Mountain State Carbon coke plant located in Follansbee, WV. The last coke push is expected to occur on the first of April and shortly after the closure process will commence, leaving 288 employees jobless. Mountain State Carbon is yet another rust belt causality and it’s closure will likely impact the already hard hit local economy.

LTEX 1531 idles within the Mountain State Carbon Complex, surrounded by a cloud of steam outputted from the plants coke furnaces.

The title about sums up my thoughts of ever entering the Scenic River Road house again based on how its decayed over the last few years. My wife unfortunately fell through a back porch a few years back-luckily it was an add-on and only had a small crawlspace under it and her newer jeans were the only causality. But there have been several other collapses since then, and a bulldozer and match are probably soon in her future...

Light speed and Causality.

A fairly simple concept that makes faster than light speed very very difficult to explain.

I you have any doubts just Google Causality and light speed.

I found loads of explanations promising to make the concept simple - trust me they didn't.

Damn its going to make explaining how I build a warp drive tricky.

Happily this is not a current event. I shot this photo from my driveway during the Utah Range Fire on and around Mount Timpanogos. There were no human causalities and as wildfires go the property damage was somewhat limited. For the Smile on Saturday challenge, things with wings.

Sometimes

Causality is too contrived.

Not that there isn't a cause.

We are just lazy

about being.

about becoming.

about breaking.

We are better at

brandishing.

at boring.

at beating.

We have been

enculturated

into compliance.

Acquiesced

to insufficient

dualism.
