Come make your own gadget, robot or wearable art at Tam Makers!
On Wednesday evenings, we host ‘You Can Make It’ workshops for adults and teens in our makerspace at Tam High School. During these open sessions, participants build new projects, with guidance from our staff and other community members.
Many of them are experienced makers, who are happy to share what they know. Here are some of the cool maker projects they are working on this month: a graceful robot spider, an eagle god with creepy eyes, an Arduino-powered garage opener, a Wifi server on a chip, and many laser cut picture frames.
If you are interested in creating your own maker project with the help of others, join us this fall, on Wednesday evenings from 6 to 9pm in the woodshop at Tam High School in Mill Valley. Learn more about You Can Make It:

One of the great benefits of this open shop program is that you get a lot more than just access to tools: you join a community of makers who like to make things together and help each other.

This is what a can can show in Paris looks like. Very loud, frenetic, colourful - with people shouting "Who hoo" at each other.

Impressions of the Project "Crash me if you can" by Ahmed Alshenoudy (EG), Nikolaus Hofer (AT), Alexander Maletzky (AT), Bernhard Schenkenfelder (AT), Stefan Thumfart (AT) — all working at RISC Software GmbH at the "Digital && Life" Exhibition at the Ars Electronica Festival 2021.
Current vehicles use artificial intelligence (AI) to recognize traffic signs in order to inform drivers or adjust the speed of the vehicle. We often blindly trust these systems — but what are the limits of machine perception? In Crash Me If You Can we playfully get to the bottom of this question. Visitors have the opportunity to manipulate traffic signs in such a way that they are no longer correctly recognized by the AI. If a speed limit on the miniature racetrack is recognized incorrectly, the racing car flies out of the curve. RISC Software GmbH is dealing with these and other issues relating to traffic sign recognition by AI in the ”SafeSign” research project. This is being funded by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) as part of the Ideas Lab 4.0 program. The AI research is supported by funds from the strategic economic and research program ”Innovative Upper Austria 2020” organized by the state of Upper Austria.

Photo Caption: Acid attack is one of the major and worst crimes in India. It not only burn some faces rather destroys the entire life of a person. Women are the main victim of this most heinous crime. Most of the time eye sight is completely lost of the victims. But dreams can\'t stopped and people continue to live with partial and full blindness

A small ridged can of Shasta Cola; I think it's from 1990 but it might actually be from 2000. There was a confusing series of dates on the bottom of the can.

When I started my contract, 4 months ago, I said that I would bike to work everyday (except when it's raining) until november 1st (the end of my contract).
Let me tell you that 5 layers of clothes is more than welcome...there was s a little bit of snow on Tuesday! And I have my legwarmer. I love my legwarmer!

“John March found himself stammering: “But what about the goods, captain? We haven’t put the goods ashore.”
“No, boy,” said Captain Griggs, “we ain’t, and we ain’t going to. What’s the use when we’ve got the wood aboard? Those goods are going to go for skins.”
Even then, John March did not entirely understand him. “But you can’t do that,” he said; “we owe the chief the goods.”
“Listen, boy,” said Captain Griggs; this ain’t like home. There’re plenty of other chiefs, and plenty of other islands. Let ‘em come and get the goods, and I’ll blow ‘em out of water. There ain’t no law out here. Now you be quiet boy". . .
Then John March found his voice. “Captain,” he said, “this is a March ship. You don’t leave until you’ve set those goods on shore. We don’t do things that way, captain. You can’t” –
Captain Griggs turned toward him quickly. “That’ll be enough from you,” he said. “Who says I can’t? I’m trying to make a profit on this voyage. I can, and I will, and I’m taking full responsibility. If you don’t like it, get below . . .” [Excerpt from the story]
