A Curve-tailed Bush Katydid is the most common large bush katydid. They are more closely related to crickets than to any type of grasshopper. Adult males are approximately 1-7/16" in total length and females are slightly smaller.

He was clinging to the tree as he was constantly being mobbed by an angry Blackbird!
The Blackbird came from nowhere every half hour purposely attacking him!

This was taken in December, after an early frost. I went outside to try to capture the sunlight in the melting frost...squatted down and shot the blades of grass, only to see a very tiny worm hanging onto one of the blades. It was probably 1/4" long.

The Rufous-tailed Hummingbird is a medium-sized hummingbird. It has a distinctly rufous-colored tail, from which its named is derived, and a bright pink bill. Like other hummingbirds, it feeds on nectar and small insects. It can be highly territorial over feeding areas.
The Rufous-tailed Hummingbird is perhaps the most common species of hummingbird at forest edge and in gardens and cultivated areas from southern Mexico south to northwestern South America.

It was late in the evening when we spotted this leopard on a tree. It was very still with its eyes trained on a group of impalas in the distance.
