National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C. bloom check on March 24th, while the cherry blossom trees were in their fourth of six stages of blooming called "Peduncle Elongation" which happened on March 31st, National Park Service NPS predicted peak bloom between April 3rd thru 6th. Which would fall in between the April 4th average peak bloom date.
