Blueberries:
Blueberries are among the highest anti-oxidant value fruits. The ORAC value of 100 g fresh blueberries is 5562 TE (Trolex equivalents). Their antioxidant value largely derived from poly-phenolic anthocyanidin compounds such as chlorogenic acid, tannins, myricetin, quercetin and kaempferol.
Strawberries:
Fresh berries are an excellent source of vitamin-C (about 98% of RDI), which is also a powerful natural antioxidant. Consumption of fruits rich in vitamin C helps body develop resistance against infectious agents, counter inflammation and scavenge harmful free radicals.
Bananas:
There are about 110 calories in a banana
* Safe and pure enough for baby's first solid food
* Bananas are a terrific, heart-healthy food
* A nutrient dense food that's ideal for any diet or weight-loss program
* Fat-, cholesterol- and sodium-free
* Provides an excellent source of vitamin B6
Yogurt/yakult:
Claims regarding the benefits of Yakult consumption are supported by an array of scientific studies, according to the manufacturer's website.Those could range from maintenance of gut flora,modulation of the immune system, regulation of bowel habits and constipation and finally effects on some gastrointestinal infections.

I was so impressed with the results of my Caffenol cross-process earlier that the same evening I tried processing a roll of Ilford PanF Plus I had finished off the night before at a San Jose Sharks game.
This was shot with a Canonet QL-17 and processed with a slightly different version of the Caffenol recipe, this one with a lot more vitamin C than I've seen elsewhere: 300ml water, 18g washing soda, 4g vitamin C crystals (normally I've seen about 1g suggested) and 12g coffee crystals. (I've since been told that the extra vit-c helps prevent the film from fogging up which is known to happen with PanF and Caffenol.)
Developed for 10 mins @ 20C with inversions for the first minute then 3 slow inversions every 30 seconds thereafter.
I didn't use a stop bath, just washed twice with 300 ml of water @ 20C (this stuff stinks up your stop bath baaad), then fixed with Ilford fixer per box instructions and a normal final wash.
The negatives were scanned with an Epson Perfection V600.
People say that Vitamin C helps to fight against the flu...

C------ grew up on a farm on the edge of Dartmoor, and farming is what she has always known. Having no siblings, she liked to be with her parents whatever they were doing, whether feeding cows on the moor, or filling bottles for orphan lambs. Her mother did all the work indoors, gardened, and helped outdoors with the cows, but took care that C------ had friends and birthday parties like other children. C------ also had chickens, cats and dogs as pets, a favourite cow and, as she grew up, her own horses. At Young Farmers Club she met P-----, and married him when she was 25; they were perfectly suited. Everyone was pleased. Now C------ helps on the farm morning and evening, and P----- at weekends. Her mother is widowed; she runs the farm with a new confidence and even goes ‘swaling’ as a Commoner, burning gorse on the moor.

Oh dear… you know… writers sometimes have a writers block. I’m not sure what monkeys like me have… would that be called a monkey block? Well, anyway, I’ve been having difficulty thinking of something to do with regards to Our Daily Challenge. I can’t even think of anything that starts with a C… I could use some help here…
Our Daily Challenge is: Begins with C
Health benefits of persimmon fruit
Persimmon fruit is moderately high in calories (provides 70 calories/100 g) but very low in fats. Its smooth textured flesh is a very good source of dietary fiber. 100 g of fresh fruit holds 3.6 g or 9.5% of recommended daily intake of soluble and insoluble fiber.
Persimmons contain health benefiting flavonoid poly-phenolic anti-oxidants such ascatechins and gallocatechins in addition to having an important anti-tumor compound,betulinic acid. Catechins found to have anti-infective, anti-inflammatory and anti-hemorrhagic (prevents bleeding from small blood vessels) properties.
Some of other anti-oxidant compounds found abundantly in this fruit are vitamin-A, beta-carotene, lycopene, lutein, zea-xanthin and cryptoxanthin. Together, these compounds work as protective scavengers against oxygen-derived free radicals and reactive oxygen species (ROS) that play a role in aging and various disease processes.
Zea-xanthin, an important dietary carotenoid, is selectively absorbed into the retinal macula lutea in the eyes where it thought to provide antioxidant and protective light-filtering functions. It, thus, helps prevent "Age-related macular related macular disease"(ARMD) in the elderly.
Persimmons are also a very good source of vitamin-C, another powerful antioxidant (especially native Chinese and American persimmons; provide 80% of DRI). Regular consumption of foods rich in vitamin C helps the body develop resistance against infectious agents and scavenge harmful, pro-inflammatory free radicals.
It is good in many valuable B-complex vitamins such as folic acid, pyridoxine (vitamin B-6), thiamin...etc. These vitamins act as co-factors for numerous metabolic enzymatic functions in the body.
Fresh and dry Persimmon fruits also contain healthy amounts of minerals like potassium, manganese (15% of DRI), copper (12% of DRI), and phosphorus. Manganese is a co-factor for the enzyme, superoxide dismutase, which is a very powerful free radical scavenger. Copper is a co-factor for many vital enzymes, including cytochrome c-oxidase and superoxide dismutase (other minerals function as cofactors for this enzyme are manganese, and zinc). Copper is also required for the production of red blood cells.
