Buzz made from icing. Used skewers on each leg for support, and a bendable armature wire on each arm. Was pretty happy with how he turned out :)

so what have we here?

I don't know to be honest

I found it dead, on a window ledge in my house, either becuase it had naturally expired, or someone had helped it along its way . It had beautiful wings and was larger than a house fly.

I took loads of photos of it, by my front window which doubles up as my indoor studio and is the main place where the photos in my table top photography set are taken.

This is the first time that I have tried to articulate how I approach photography. Basically, in a nutshell - I see possibilities in the viewfinder. So here, the fly had beautiful wings but as I was moving my camera in and out of focus, against the subdued light of the window (the curtains were nearly closed, it was hot) - I saw an image like this in my viewfinder, and liked it, so then played around with focus.

Taking photographs against this window is amazing - many of my photographs taken this way (ie wide open lens) have a beautiful green backdrop, and some of my fly photos taken that day have an orange background - something to do with the bright sunlight.

I had three goes to get the photo I wanted, uploading to my computer each time - not sure if I could work in film as I need to see the product. The window was slightly open and the last time I uploaded the fly disappeared, taken somewhere by the wind - so I thanked it for letting me take photographs, and I hoped that in return I could show its beauty.

My Force Friday purchase (BB8), which was a surprisingly good build.

And a recent Buzz Droid MOC I did based on Takamichi's design.

Its made up of about 2,200 bricks.

Buzz is about 8 weeks old in this picture.. He was named after Buzz Aldin.

I'm sure most of you feel the same way that I do about the official LEGO design for the Separatist Buzz Droid. They range from being laughingly awful (*shudders* the one with the battle droid legs still haunts my dreams) to simply being too cumbersome and not really in line with minifigure proportions.

So, as I was cleaning my Star Wars collection, I devoted some time to redesigning my two Buzz Droids before putting them on display. What started out as a simple swapping out of a few parts lead to a complete re-imagining. I've seen other great Buzz Droid MOCs, but many of them are flimsy and don't have a lot of playability. These little guys hold up well and are pretty posable.

As always, feed back is encouraged. :D

I didn't ;have the reach to get decent shots of the eagles flying by, so at times I switched to other things flying by...

And so am I after the athletics tonight. What a fantastic evening. I hurt my throat shouting for Mo in that last 200m! Superb. Loved the women's 4x400m relay too. What a great team effort.

Eak, it's 4am... think I'd better get to bed now :)

It feels weird taking shots of a toy with a tripod on a busy road with people walking around, sometimes everyone is like ..look that's buzz, some ppl start smiling ..but it definitely gets the attention of ppl. If they have a nice smile, I'll show them what I did. Anyways I took this shot in all lighting conditions, with flash, without flash, with light from the passing cars on the streets but I think this looks best and I really like the texture of the concrete floor.
