Vintage 1930s valentine card from my Mother's collection. The poem, printed in hard to read gold ink, reads:

Button-face oh! Button-face,

Be my Valentine!

With big round eyes and ivory skin,

Ev'ry grace is thine!

She has a real, hand painted button for a face. Unfortunately there is a crack in the button.

The back of the card is printed Raphael Tuck & Sons. LTD. London, Paris, Berlin, New York, and Montreal. Printed in Germany.

I like the sense of depth that the bubbles in the background bestow on the big button.

Button Poms (Pompons) are popular accent flowers used in bouquets. They look quite different when they are viewed close up than they do in real life.

Sometimes I love taking the pictures as much as making the thing. It's a misty morning here and the air was perfect for pictures even though the sun isn't shining. I'm off to hold up my Obama signs at my polling place until lunch. Today is a very exciting and hopeful day.

Cut steel coat button made in Birmingham around 1800. This button is part of a set which was probably made for wearing at court and other formal occasions.

Madhyamaheshwar (Sanskrit: मध्यमहेश्वर) or Madmaheshwar is a Hindu temple dedicated to god Shiva, located in the Mansoona village of Garhwal Himalayas in Uttarakhand, India. Situated at an elevation of 3,497 m (11,473.1 ft), it is the fourth temple to be visited in the Panch Kedar pilgrimage circuit, comprising five Shiva temples in the Garhwal region. The other temples in the circuit include: Kedarnath, Tungnath and Rudranath to be visited before Madmaheshwar and Kalpeshwar to be visited after Madmaheshwar. The middle (madhya) or belly part or navel (nabhi) of the bull, considered a divine form of Shiva, is worshipped at this temple, believed to be built by the Pandavas, the heroes of the Hindu epic Mahabharata.[1]
