Butler Wash Ruins
Butler Wash Ruin is a cliff dwelling that was built and occupied by the Ancestral Puebloans, sometimes known as Anasazi, in about 1200 AD. Parts of the site has been stabilized and reconstructed, but most of it remains as it was found in the 1800s. There are habitation, storage and ceremonial structures, including four kivas. This ruin is located in a side canyon of Butler Wash, on the east side of Comb Ridge.
A BLM trail to the site winds its way across slickrock and washes to reach an overlook of the cliff dwelling. Round trip hiking distance is 1 mile and takes approximately a half hour. The difficulty is moderate. An interpretive sign is located at the overlook. Ample parking and a restroom is provided. There is no water at this site, and desert temperatures can be extremely hot and dry. Plan ahead and be prepared. Bring appropriate clothing and lots of water when visiting this site.

Let's explore the Butler Wash Ruins!
These ruins were occupied by the Anasazi Indians about 700 years ago. It contains four kivas, as well as habitation and food storage areas.
This photo was taken from the tourist overlook. We snapped a few shots here, then made our way around to the right, eventually walking along the top of the cliff, directly over the ruins, where we found a precarious down climb (off camera to the left) which allowed us access to the ruins.

The History of Butler House
Butler House is the Dower House of Kilkenny Castle and has always been associated with the Butler Family, Dukes & Earls of Ormonde who resided at Kilkenny Castle for 500 years.
18th Century
The house was home to Lady Eleanor Butler who lived here after the death of her husband Walter in 1783. Lady Eleanor Butler was the mother of John, the 17th Earl of Ormonde and her daughter, also Eleanor, was one of the famous "ladies of Langollen".
19th Century
James, Earl of Ormonde resided in the house while the Castle was under reconstruction in 1831.
A soup kitchen was run from here during the cholera epidemic of 1832.
The Royal historical and Archaeological Association of Ireland held their meetings in Butler House in 1870.
20th Century
Kilkenny Design, the state design agency, restored Butler House in 1972.
The decor and furnishings reflect a certain 1970s Art Deco style, which because of the muted colours and natural fabrics used, proved sympathetic to the original features of the house. In 1989, the Kilkenny Civic Trust acquired both Butler House and the Castle Stables. The house was then opened to the public as a guesthouse and conference centre.
In 2000, The Kilkenny Civic Trust had the gardens at Butler House landscaped, in order to return them to their original splendour. The gardens have since become an attraction for the many visitors to Kilkenny.(Butler House, Kilkenny website)

Não tenho palavras, é ruim de passar, seca fosco ensebado mas depois do top coat fica maravilhoso. Passei três camadas.
CSX M541 glides through the small “city” of Butler with CSX CM44AC #7570 on point. I shot this train months ago during a family trip down to Kentucky for a couple of days and realized how close I was to CSX’s CC sub. Only having my medium format on me (Mamiya RB67 specifically) and my 300mm telephoto lens for it, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to shoot a train at one of the locations near me, the nearest being Butler. I loaded a roll of Kodak Gold 200, waited for the train to arrive and hoped for the best. Anyone that’s used an RB67 knows how heavy it is, and how big the 300mm lens is, not having a tripod to ground the camera I thought for sure I was gonna miss the focus completely or have a lot of motion blur but to my surprise, the image actually came out well.

Plowin' these fields in the hot summer sun
Over by the gate, Lordy here she comes
With a basket full of chicken and a big cold jug of sweet tea
I make a little room and she climbs on up
Open up the throttle and stir a little dust
Just look at her face
She ain't a foolin' me
She thinks my tractor's sexy
It really turns her on
She's always starin' at me
While I'm chuggin' along
She likes the way it's pullin' while we're tillin' up the land
She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy
