A photo of the sun shining through the trees I took one Summer when the sky was filled with smoke from a bush fire. In 2009 one such fire wiped a whole town off the map not far from where I live, killing hundreds of people, some of them known to my family.

The sky can look like this for days on end and the air is acrid.

I didn't edit this photograph at all, save cropping a little, or use any special tricks with exposure.

Summer here can be cruel sometimes.

This was not taken at sunset.

The bush dog (Speothos venaticus) is a canid found in Central and South America.

Bush dogs are diurnal (active during the day) and take shelter in logs or burrows created by other animals. Hunting as a pack helps these relatively small canines to bring down larger prey.

A bush fire along the Great Northern Highway near the town of Newman in Western Australia. More than likely started by a lightning strike.

Having a little fun with the multiple shots I took of this photogenic trolley bus. I think the pano emphasises the length of the beast and the anomaly of finding such an apparition in the desert. Compare to the straightforward shot below.

For a beer that is nearly 12% alcohol, the Bush beer has a suprisingly nice, smooth flavor. It doesn't invade your taste buds. It isn't super common in Belgium but has a small, loyal following I am sure.

Bush fires are raging in Aussie and we are getting some these almost every night.

'Dust particles create more scattering in the mid and upper atmosphere and increase the vibrancy of sunsets and sunrises.'
