New bus shelters have been put in place on the new link road that connects Carpenters Road to Montfitchet Road. This road is due to open in May 2014 and routes 339 and D8 will be rerouted to serve this stop.
UPDATE: The changes to bus routes 339 & D8 have been brought forward to 5th April, the same date as the reopening of the southern section of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
This bus stop is boring in a way impossible to describe with words.
I can imagine hours and hours waiting there, just sitting. A slight breeze, some birds flying around and a car passing by once in a while.
Just waiting.
We waited for the Sonoma Transit transfer here, going from San Francisco to Monte Rio, Northern California.
The heart of the problem. A collapsed sewer pipe had created a hole in the centre of Station Road out side St Aidan's church. The road had to be closed to allow for emergency repair work to be carried out. As a result of this closure, diversions were in place for local traffic and three bus routes.
In the picture a bus stop is shown next to the road works. Note the "Stop not in use" cover over the bus stop flag and the sign sellotaped to the pole giving details of the diversion to the bus routes that would normaly serve the stop.
