On 16th September 2023, a London route 38 running day was organised. Vintage buses were operating along the full length of the route (alongside the normal "Borismaster" buses) carrying passengers free of charge.

London Transport's RT class had around 7000 examples, of various types. RT1 was the first of the class and nominally dates from 1938. It's history is exceptionally complicated (see www.busspotter.com/RT/RT1.htm#top). In summary, the current bus's body dates from 1939, but the chassis it is on is from a post war bus (RT1420) which had had a contretemps with a railway bridge).

After a long history and many travels, it has ended up with the London Bus Museum at Brooklands. Here it is approaching Victoria.

Would cause a few heads to turn on the streets of the former East Germany. Ideal for a trip to the DDR Museum in MVP. Fleet no L299, according to this site. The L series of numbers commenced in the 1960s when DR McGregor purchased the Letch business on the latter's retirement, having run services in North Essex since about 1920.. The firm even has a Wikipedia Page Now, the original Letch title is back. Other businesses acquired of which I have photos elsewhere are Osbornes, Wents, Jennings, Kemps and Copeman
