Op zondag 13 december 2015 neemt Connexxion het busvervoer in de concessie Hoekse Waard/Goeree-Overflakke over van Arriva. Bij wijze van afscheid nog een terugblik op het Arriva-tijdperk in deze regio.

On Sunday 13 December 2015 Connexxion will take over the busservices in the franchise Hoekse Waard/Goeree-Overflakkee (south of Rotterdam) from Arriva. By way of saying goodbye a quick look back on the Arriva era in this region.
Arriva 8322 has just departed from busstation Heinenoord and heads via the buslane to motorway A29 towards Rotterdam.

Sinds 1 mei 2015 kunnen KLM-passagiers uit de regio Arnhem/Nijmegen gebruik maken van een busservice naar Schiphol.

Op 13 december 2015 heeft Connexxion het busvervoer in de concessie Hoekse Waard/Goeree-Overflakkee van Arriva overgenomen. De lijnen 130, 136 en Qliner 396 van Rotterdam Zuidplein naar Goeree-Overflakkee werden daarbij samengevoegd tot R-net lijn 436.
Connexxion 5908 passeert op de regenachtige ochtend van 29 december 2015 de muziektent in het centrum van Middelharnis op weg van Stellendam naar Rotterdam.

On 13 December 2015 Connexxion took over the busservices in the franchise Hoekse Waard/Goeree-Overflakkee, south of Rotterdam, from Arriva. Several busroutes from Rotterdam to Goeree-Overflakkee have been merged into R-net route 436.
On the rainy morning of 29 December 2015 Connexxion 5908 passes the music stand in the town centre of Middelharnis on its way from Stellendam to Rotterdam.

Look Busreisen WES-LB 568 (de voormalige NIAG 3614 - kenteken WES-A 3614) vertrekt van het in ombouw zijnde busstation als lijn 59 naar het Altes Zollamt in Kranenburg-Wyler.

Look Busreisen is a subsidiary of the Niederrheinische Verkehrsbetriebe AG (NIAG) and exploits busservices in and around the German town of Kleve.
Look Busreisen WES-LB 568 (the former NIAG 3614 - registration plate WES-A 3614) departs from Kleve busstation, which is under reconstruction, on route 59 to Altes Zollamt (Old Customs House) in Kranenburg-Wyler.

Rails Replacements
EV 34 was just recently delivered to Donnybrook Garage at the time of this photo, seen operating a Dart Shuttle/ Rail Replacement service from Booterstown Station to Dublin City Centre in October 2007.
DART services were suspended between Connolly and Sydney Parade Stations as part of planned engineering works. A shuttle bus service will operate between Connolly and Booterstown Stations for customers making cross-city journeys, or travelling from southside stations to the city centre.

De RET vervangt de tramsporen op de kruising Kruisplein - West-Kruiskade en op de Mauritsweg. Hierdoor zijn een aantal tramlijnen in delen geknipt of worden omgeleid. De RET rijdt met pendelbussen tussen het Centraal Station en het Tiendplein (lijn 721) en tussen het Centraal Station en het Marconiplein (lijn 724).
RET 907, uit de reservevloot, rijdt als lijn 724 op de Mathenesserbrug naar het Marconiplein.

The RET is replacing tramtracks in the citycentre of Rotterdam. Some tramroutes are cut in parts and other routes are being diverted.
RET 907 is seen on the Mathenesserbridge in the western part of Rotterdam on replacing busservice 724 from the Central Station to Marconiplein.

I also celebrate diversity, some of us like black and white, some of us love landscape, others like urban. So diversity is in all strains of life and we are much better in celebrating it rather than being prejudice about other human values.
The bus picture was taken in Welwyn Garden City bus station and it was wonderful to see such colourful livery on a local bus.

Zimbabwe.
There has been so much water, that the experience was a more-than-wet one. Mostly it ws very difficult to see something like a landscape or the mighty Zambezi River through the gusting spray. Most people did rent their raincoats at the entrance, but we didn't mind to get wet to the skin ..
actually one of the reason to have a good waterproof camera system :-)
We took a busservice from Kasane to Victoria Falls to avoid the hassles we would have had to drive ourselfes.

Busservice Watzinger GmbH & Co. KG: the bus with registration M WA 9028 (MAN NL283/A21 Lion's City) leaves the bus terminal located next to the Ostbahnhof railway station, working a service in the ExpressBus line X30 to Harras.
Taken a short time before Selwyn Motors of Westgate, ended their contribution to the 292 'Saturday only' Belton to Doncaster service. (Via Epworth - Sandtoft - Hatfield - Dunsville)
Putting aside the few contemporary seaside open-top operations elsewhere in the country, this was the last regular use of a MCW Metrobus in stage carriage service in the UK.
The bus itself, an ex Mersey Travel Metrobus, had become a bit of a celebrity at this point in time, and was a subject chased by many transport photographers.
After withdrawal, the bus was purchased for preservation and taken back to Merseyside, where it was restored to its original Merseybus condition.
Returning to the photo: F810YLV is well into its outbound journey, and is caught passing the old petrol station on High Street, Hatfield, en route for Doncaster.

Seen on the back of a Trustybus working route 333 in Hertford. We are short of bus drivers these days and the old, World War One slogan comes to mind.

New to London Transport during May-1950 with a different Weymann body . This body was fitted during its last Aldenham overhaul in June-1966 .
Passing to this Operator upon its inception on 01st-January-1970 .

May-1972 , and not a hint of the National Bus Company about it !
