Reading Buses were on rail replacement duties in Guildford in late May 2018. Among the buses used on the Bank Holiday Monday were Scania N280UD / Alexander Dennis Enviro400 City H45/26D 712 YP67XCG in two-tone purple livery for the Purple 17 route.
Currently on loan at White Bus of Winkfield are three former Abellio Surrey buses still in full Abellio livery: Alexander Dennis Dart SLF / ADL Pointer B23F 8016 BX54DMO & 8018 BX54DMV; and Alexander Dennis Enviro200 B26F 8108 YX58DTY.
Here, BX54DMV reverses into the depot in Winkfield in May 2018.
3 May 1980 and RM 1439`s day on the 9`s has just ended badly. As it travelled along Castlenau, one of those `cherry pickers` used to maintain street lights was in use with the operator high up in the cradle. He allegedly `hit the wrong lever` as the bus approached causing the arm to swing outwards.
Given the damage to the bus it`s probably no surprise that the impact was sufficient to throw the unfortunate guy to the ground. He survived albeit with many broken bones.

Reading Buses took over running the Green Line 702 service from First Group over the Christmas period in 2017. The service runs from Bracknell to London Victoria with some early morning and late evening services extending to Reading.
Since then a variety of different vehicle types have been used on the service including Scania demonstrator YN16CFU, a Scania N250UD / Alexander Dennis Enviro400 MMC temporarily numbered 778 in the Reading fleet, seen here in Bracknell in February 2018.
Due to a lack of space at Potters Bar garage Metroline are outstationing a small number of buses at the premises of Sullivan Buses South Mimms.

Local media reports have stated something to the effect that five buses collided with each other. The truth is probably more on the lines of one Arriva VDL colliding with four Stagecoach vehicles for reasons as yet unknown.
It appears from the trail of destruction left behind that the Arriva has hit an Enviro hybrid and I think a Magic Bus Trident, before ending up on the wrong side of Portland Street, where it has then clipped an Enviro before finally coming to rest, embedded in the front of passing ex Mayne Magic Trident V128 DJA.
All the emergency services were quickly on the scene, with eleven people reported as injured. The scene was finally cleared by around 11am.
Just purchased by Sullivan Buses South Mimms is former Metroline Man 12.240 MCV Evolution MM787 and is yet to be painted in fleet livery.
The crash scene on Portland Street in central Manchester tonight, showing the aftermath of Stagecoach Manchester Magic Bus 19254 (MX08 GNO) apparently rear-ending hybrid 12229 (SL63 FZK).
Police and ambulance were on the scene, including a significant PCSO presence to deal with resulting traffic congestion.
Initial local media reports quote police as stating that there were no major injuries and no arrests made.

For the Green Line 702 Reading/Bracknell-London Victoria service, Reading Buses have trialled a number of new buses including BCI FBC6108BRZ1 / BCI H51/27F 301 LX17GKL.
Ensignbus market the bus as the 'Ensign Excellence' and 12 were imported from China in 2017. This followed 5 examples of the 3-axle 'Ensign Enterprise' that arrived in 2016.
The sole green liveried example LX17GKL is seen in Bracknell bus station in February 2018 operating on the 702.
