The stone staircase at Seaton Delaval hall, owned by the @nationaltrust, Northumberland. The Delaval family were keen supporters of William the Conqueror, and were gifted land in Northumbria after their welcome support in 1066 (the battle of Hastings). After buying the house of his bankrupt cousin Admiral George Delaval commissioned the famous Sir John Vanburgh to design the building as it stands today in the 1720’s. Sadly in 1822 the house was ravished by a great fire, leading to great damage throughout. Recently the Catholic church in Little Italy (North Beach) of San Francisco was undergoing a "Tower Reinforcement Project". From the outside it appears to have been completed.

Atmospheric view of a fine old castle. Situated in France, Midi-pyrénées, Aveyron.
Built in 1572 this was, in fact, originally the Old Palace, then the Town Hall, then a prison. Nowadays I believe it is a Hotel.
The actual local castle, Château de Calmont d'Olt, sits on a hill behind the town.
