Il buio raggiunge luoghi inaccessibili alla luce.

Close view of the construction workers and their shadows at the Irving Convention Center under constuction. They are installing copper siding that has an awsome reflection at sunrise & sunset. Over time the copper will get a green patina and still look good.

Murin-an is the former villa of Yamagata Aritomo, statesman of the Meiji and Taisho periods. The estate was constructed in 1894 as a stroll garden, designed by Yamagata, around streams fed by the Lake Biwa Canal and incorporating Higashiyama (the Eastern Hills) as borrowed scenery. Along with Shisendo-do, Murin-an provides an opportunity to see an elegant private family residence--as opposed to temple and garden. In 1941 the property was donated to the city of Kyoto which holds it as a cultural asset.

Dove c’è molta luce, l’ombra è più nera.

This is an operational temple with scholars studying and prayers happening

This is Euclid Avenue, once the most sought-after addresses for banks, lawyers and private clubs, it is now a bit derelic. The former Cleveland Trust building is now for sale. The brown building across the street has many broken windows, it's being restored and converted to a hotel.

Euclid Avenue at East 9th Street, Cleveland, Ohio.

I actually enjoyed my mini-trip to Cleveland a lot. I find the city clean, safe and friendly, though a bit dead (quiet) even on a fine Sunday.

The Neudeflat is a famous, protected building designed by the architect H A Maaskant. It used to be called the Drakenburgh, a reference to a mediaeval castle that once stood close by.

The building is being renovated and its appearance is already much improved.

The architecture is quite brilliant, but I really think it ought to have been built somewhere other than Utrecht's ancient centre.

Il tempo è la nostra carne. Siamo fatti di tempo. Siamo il tempo. È una curva inesorabile che condiziona ogni gesto della nostra vita, compresa la morte.

Interestingly, the Cleveland Trust Co. Building is almost right across from this cheque/ check here, which was settled by the trust company on October 15, 1959. Very obviously, the artist has specially chosen and placed this old check/ cheque at the front of the gallery.

I came across this art gallery entirely by accident. Formerly the location of H. W. Beattie & Co., now it's the W. (William) Rupnik Gallery. I initially thought someone has ransacked the office, as you can see the overturned and broken desk, typewriter, decoration, office supplies and equipment, with papers and documents strewn all over the place. Upon closer examination, I realised this is a special art exhibit.

Later, I learnt that this is an art exhibit by photographer Brandon P. Davis, called Ruins, Relics and Revealations, and is about urban blight in the Rust Belt. The exhibition happened between August 11 and 31, 2012.

The polarizing filter fails massively in this case. I wasn't able to remove the glare and reflection of the glass window and I don't know why : (
